I don’t know man. I think Lovecraft isn’t quite as skilled as he’s made out to be. A lot of rambling about “something so crazy I can hardly believe i’m telling you” then doesn’t tell you anything.

Having dipped my toes into Lovecraft over the last year, I can now see why his work is so influential. Frankly, there was no one writing like him and there never will be. His writing feels as if it wells up from a subconcious place unrelated to his imagination. It feels felt and lived in. It truly is frightening. His grasp of the english language is both flowery and perverse. Just a fucking truly original dude.

Die Stimmung war vom ersten Wort an spürbar. Als Einstieg in den Cosmic Horror war das Buch fantastisch, auch wenn mir persönlich die architektonischen Beschreibungen zu viel wurden und in mir die Anspannung wieder etwas auflösten. Aber es hat meinen Horizont erweitert und mich begeistert!
