Gönlünü kaptırmıştı aldatılarına…

Yevgeni Onegin benim fazlasıyla merak ettiğim klasikler arasında yer alıyordu. Bu kitabı başlarda yavaş yavaş sonrasında ise araya kitap almadan okudum. Yavaş bir okuma yöntemini tavsiye etmiyorum çünkü asıl zevki kitabın içerisinde iyice dalmakla çıkıyor. Şiir-roman türünde olduğundan çeviri de önem kazanıyor. Elbette çeviri özenli olsa da keşke orijinal halinden okuyabilseydim çünkü çeviri şiirde ister istemez eksilen bir şeyler olduğunu düşünüyorum. Bu kitapta hayatından bunalmış olan Yevgeni’yi anlatıyor. Tatyana kitaba rengini veren, duello kısmı kitaba heyecan katan ve sonlarda yer alan tekrar karşılaşma kitaba duygusallığı veren kısım. Dediğim gibi ara vermeden okumak lazım keyfi ancak o şekilde çıkıyor.

What a beautiful book. Nothing extra; in perfect t harmony with itself. I only wish that I knew Russian and could read the book in the words of the author.
I found the verse to be distracting and hard to follow at first, but after getting about a third of the way through I was immersed.
This book was like Russian Shakespeare. Incredibly well crafted. The flow and pacing was perfect.
I can see why Russians revere Pushkin. His writing was easy to follow, yet proudly insightful.
Through the work I gained a greater understanding of not taking others for granted. Both Eugene’s young friend and his admirer were not fully appreciated until it was too late.
