I loved that there was a video element mixed in with the story and really appreciated that the acknowledgements were a video as well. It was creative and new and fun.

The premise of the book was interesting, but the dialogue was too unnatural and exaggerated. This was especially apparent in the videos when Poe is speaking to the camera. It's unrealistic to think someone would talk like that during such tense moments. It all felt a little too melodramatic and YA for my liking. And the flipping back and forth from one time to another kind of killed the suspense. By the end, I was getting sick of Poe and just wanted the story to be about her dad and the pets.

Overall an easy read but nothing to write home about.

This was a decent thriller, but I was hoping for more of a twist. I enjoyed the read though.

DNF at 50%. This book confirms my feelings about men writing female characters. You’d think a woman with a true crime podcast that interviews criminals wouldn’t be so indecisive and pathetic. Nothing really happens in the first half of the book besides her waffling about the same things over and over. I stopped reading because I stopped caring about the plot.

Pretty mundane and the characters are pretty unaware. It was a boredom read and it barely did the job. Oh well.
