While the books in this series are well thought out and I really enjoyed them all, the endings are terrible. Rushed and unsatisfying to the point of frustration. You could feel that the other really connected to and put a lot of herself into these characters which I really enjoyed and made me feel very involved in the book but then nothing really feels resolved and these people who I got to know so intimately just disappear. So many plot points are tied up with a sentence with nothing actually happening on the page. The epilogue just added insult to injury by being from Annabelle’s POV and not Catriona’s even though for the last three books Annabelle has barely even made appearances compared to Hattie and Lucie.

I loved Catriona and Elias.
I also loved the epilogue with all of the women shown in their older years during the first election some women could vote. It made me cry, both for the joy and hard work it took for the real life characters to get to that point AND experience love and family as well.

This book was SUCH a surprise and I'm elated about it. I picked this book up from the library for my regency reading challenge (Bridgerton had me in a mood). Let me say- this book is way denser and heavier on the HISTORICAL fiction than Bridgerton is but I like that kind of thing so it was welcomed.

Already I enjoyed the fact that the FMC is a strong, intelligent queer, pragmatic suffragist who is absolutely neurodivergent coded but it took me by surprise how much I enjoyed the MMC. His perspective as a Middle Eastern character and his advocacy for his people and their rights wa  passionate and refreshing. The plot was interesting and I know others didn't love that the resolve happened off page but it didn't hinder the reading experience for me.
