This was a slow burn that was giving me goosebumps. It only took me about 3-4 das to finish entirely, I could not put this book down. The fact that someone could be lurking in my home, standing over my child's bed, makes the hair on the back on my neck stand up. I couldn't just dismiss someone coming out of my attic as photoshop. I highly recommend this book to all fellow thriller fans, you will not be disappointed.

Favorite Quotes: “I’m not afraid of being alone in the dark,” Luca whispers. “I’m afraid that I’m not alone.”
“People trust people with dogs. They do. There’s an inherent belief that dog people are good people.”

Andrea Mara - Someone In The Attic
⭐️⭐️⭐️

We follow the story of Julia and Gabe and their 2 children, Luca and Isla on their move from San Diego to Ireland following an ‘event that happened’.
The book has a main plot with subplot chapters, showing the connection between 4 friends ‘JADE’ as they called themselves.
The attic parts were creepy and this book had so so much potential but by 1/3 of the way through the book I had guessed the majority of the plot and it felt very predictable, so much more could have been done.

I loved No One Saw a Thing by Andrea Mara, but for me this book was not the one.

That was absolutely brilliant! A wild ride! With SO many questions throughout! I don’t think I have ever read a thriller where I have had that many questions! It was just awesome!

I have definitely found a new favourite author! The characters were well written, the twists and the way they were knitted together throughout the story and then brought together in the remaining parts was something close to genius!

I cannot imagine what it takes to have this level of writing talent. I have been reading thrillers since I was 14 and I’m now 46 and I can honestly say this is up there with the best of them.

I went from thinking it was one person and then onto the next. Many red herrings, many false road travelled ;)

I loved the premise and it’s the first book I’ve read in ages where I genuinely felt creeped out. It was like watching a horror movie but a book! I have immense praise for Andrea Mara and cannot wait to read her others! This was my first by this author and I will now read all of her stuff asap!

Enjoyable easy read. Short chapters kept me hooked.
