I saw a review calling this the black sheep of A Song of Ice and Fire and I feel like that’s pretty accurate. You don’t see characters like Dany or Jon Snow or Tyrion but the viewpoint of other characters helps world build a lot. Still an enjoyable read

I have loved every single book in this series thus far and this book isn’t an exception. The story lines that are started in this book are remarkable and extremely captivating. I have liked nearly every story line in this story thus far. George R. R. Martin's way of continuing to expand this world while keeping the audience captivated and continuing to develop the characters is incredible. There weren’t a lot of times where I was bored while reading this book.

There are so many different stories that are happening in this book and they all go together so beautifully. Although all of these stories are happening in different parts of the world and with characters who haven’t met each other. Martin does a wonderful job at slowly building these stories and letting the audience get a feel at where their favorite characters are going to end up and how everything is going to come together.

Daenerys not being present in this book at all was extremely criminal. I love her and her entire storyline and although I enjoyed this book, it fell a little flat because of the lack of Dragon mommy. Bran was also not present in this book but no one gives a fuck if we’re being honest.

Narrator check in:
Sansa: I still love my girl and I absolutely HATE everything that is happening to her. She has such a complex personality in this book, not that she was ever two dimensional, and it has been so hard for me to read about it, because it depresses me. My sister is in the trenches and also fuck little finger, I hope everything bad in this world happens to his stupid ass.

Cersei Lannister: The cuntiest bitch alive, I love her. I have been patiently waiting for a Cersi POV and it did not disappoint. This queen will stop at nothing to make sure that her son is never hurt and she’s mother for that. Her beef with Margaery Tyrell is so funny and all the trouble that she went through to get her jailed just to end up with the same fate is so funny. Cersei does bad shit just to do it and I think that’s a wonderful thing. I hope this diva has a POV in the next book as well.

Arya: I love love love her storyline in this book. Arya has always been a favorite character of mine and this book has further solidified that. Her journey this book has been incredible to read about, no notes.

Jon: My man fr fr. I have loved Jon so much and I’m so glad that he has risen through the ranks and is the fucking lord commander now. He’s lowkey an opp for what he made Tilly do but I’ll forgive him

Jaime Lannister: MY FUCKING MAN LETS GOOOOO!! I’m so so happy that my boy Jamie has a POV in this book as well. His character development continues to be amazing. I have loved every single one of his chapters. I like how he’s dealing with the death of his father and son. How he’s dealing with Tyrion and Cersei and I LOVE how he’s bettering himself.

Brienne of Tarth: I like her but if i’m being completely honest, I am not very interested in her storyline so far.

Samwell: I really couldn’t give less of a fuck I’m sorry bro.

At some parts hard to get through, it was nice to see things from new character's perspectives. Though it is sometimes hard to keep everyone straight.

This has taken me so long to get through that I completely forgot what was happening, but I was far enough through it that I didn’t want to start over and just continued on. I still don’t really know all that has happened. There’s just so many perspectives to keep track of. I know I definitely liked the previous book a bit more, this one just felt like it dragged on. I’m thinking maybe this series just isn’t totally for me, especially since the only character I really care about is Arya
