A Feast for Crows was my least favorite in the series thus far. I didn't think the events as a whole were as interesting as the previous books. I liked the addition of Cersei's point of view, but I didn't enjoy the addition of the points of view from the Iron Islands. I am really excited for A Dance with Dragons, because of the other characters that weren't in this book get to return.

I'll have more to say about this at my newsletter, but this is sort of the worst received novel in the series. It took a long time to arrive and gave almost no one what they wanted. But I thought it might be the best of the series when I first read it and I feel that same way now, eleven years later.
But this may have to do with my obsession with failure. The arc of Cersei's story here is just impeccable. Also Brienne. Also the whole Dornish excursion.
I love failure in fiction. I find it beautiful and wondrous.
BUt, yes, more to come.

Holy shit this book dragged. I have to say the Brienne and Sam povs didn’t do anything for the plot other than tie loose ends (which could’ve been tied by mention alone)
I just feel like nothing happens in most of the book, I mostly enjoyed seeing Cerci’s stupidity, the things happening with the ironborn and dorne, and Arya in braavos but that’s it. And who leaves all these plot lines open for 13 years???

I wish the plot points from season 5 of the show were in the book but still interesting insight into the characters. It drives me insane that a bunch of these cliff hangers are just gonna stay cliff hangers.
