This book took me on a journey. Stephanie Garber wasted no words, no pages. I never wanted the fairytale of Caraval to end, but alas all good things must end.
I loved the reveals in this one, from the enchanted gown to Scarlett’s powers/emotions to more information about Scarlett and Tella’s mom. The will they won’t they between Legend/Dante and Donatella is amplified with Jacks taking on a bigger role in this one. I love chaotic Jacks and his mysteriousness.
I am so glad that Stephanie included a portion where she talked about forgiveness without forcing yourself to love. That you can forgive without loving someone and Scarlett crying about who Gavriel could have been.
I adored Tella and Scarlett both. I love their sisterhood and its unbreakable bond. I also couldn’t get enough of Scarlett and Julian!
When Tella’s heart broke, mine did too. I think LegenDante didn’t feel worthy of her love and kept her at a distance for that. He always said he wasn’t the hero in her story and the mural where he adores her broke my heart. I believe he kept away and tried not to love her for her sake and not because he didn’t care.
My main gripes were a transition that made no sense given the precarious situations these characters are often in and also what’s with these old ass characters falling in love with teenagers?? I have such a hard time with that part but check myself at the door.
I’m so happy that Spectacular is coming out in October. I already miss these characters.

This was still really good, but it did drag on at times. It was quite entertaining, but some scenes definetly could have been cut out. I loved this series so much and I cannot believe i’m finished it, especially after I wasn’t too excited about it. I cannot wait to read the OUABH series in the future (and get more jacks🤭)

I liked that it had chapters for Scarlett and Tella so it was a full adventure coming together. This one was fun and the little love triangle had me bouncing back and forth until the very end! I enjoyed this one and it was a good close to the series.
