I really loved the format of the book. The alternating narrator was done really well so the flow of the story didn't get confusing and the author had very good control of how much information you had as the reader. I was really interested in the media aspect of the story and how much persuasion the media has on public opinion. It's also really intriguing story about dark aspects of relationships. It took me a while to get through it because I go through waves of reading a lot and then not reading at all. I did see the movie adaptation and, of course, there were parts of the books that were cut out of the movie. However, I was actually pretty happy with the overall movie because I think they made some smart edit choices to keep the pace appropriate for a movie.
Despite all the hype ive heard for years about this book, it never got spoiled for me! A miracle!
My fiancé (who doesn’t like to read for fun) made a deal that if I (someone who does not like to run) ran with him for 30 minutes, he’d read with me for an hour. After a lot of booklist browsing, he picked this one, and I got immediately hooked (he’s still getting there, he didn’t get past the exposition in that hour)
I couldn’t put it down all day even though both of the main characters are absolutely horrible people and I didn’t want either of them to win out in the end.
I’m a little bit sad that I read this so early in the year because I don’t know if anything else is going to top it

Deliciously toxic. Reading Amy and Nick is the equivalent of two dumb bitches telling each other “EXACTLYYY!”
Wow, what an amazing start to this book. Flynn certainly knows how to make a reader stay up late, craving to find out more in the next chapter. However, the ending left me thinking, seriously - that is too far fetched. Somewhat disappointed, but I'm curious about her other books as well. Overall very glad I read this book....and with young kids and a legal practice that means something, I do not have "spare time" to put into reading junk. Great thriller.
