This book is good but the many storylines make it a little hard to follow.
I appreciate the perspective its written from (granddaughter of a survivor) and the description of both the Jewish customs and how awful life was for Jews during WWII.

I have heard people say that all Holocaust stories are the same, but this simply is not true. I look forward to reading this story again someday.
4.5 ⭐A WWII historical fiction tale/memoir that sucks you in immediately and never lets go. I listened to the audiobook and it was hard to press pause. In a genre that already has had so many stories told, this one stands out. Put it on your must read list.
I absolutely loved the stories of perseverance and determination that the author told about her family - I'm in awe of their strength.
