There were many characters in this book (the ones for the previous books so we have met them all, though I definitely needed a refresher) but it made it hard to follow a single plot. It's more of a set up for what comes next, so I didn't get into it as much as the other books.
Yes, kind of like a very long epilogue to the first part of the series, but there are new plot threads introduced as well, and I can see what she's mapping out for the next phase. Personally, I really liked getting to "check-in" with past H/h pairings, and it was really interesting to spend so much time with Sascha and Lucas now that they've been together a while and are more comfortable with one another, and Sascha with her position within the pack and among the Es. I'm more of a changeling fan anyway, so I really liked the balance in this book ;). Excited to hang out with the bear shifters next, and learn more about BlackSea in the near future!

Oh I can't believe it's over. I went on such a journey with these books and this last book was just the perfect ending for me. I love that Singh decided to not bring in a new couple for this one and just focus on all the characters we've met so far over the series and take a look at how they've all become intertwined over the course of all the books. I loved having the chance to check in with everyone and see them all interact in the end.
I think this book did a really good job in setting the stage for Trinity too, which I have a renewed excitement for with the next book coming out in July. I can't wait to see cameos in the newer series of all the characters and couples I now have background knowledge for. It'll definitely make rereading any of the Trinity books, which I'll probably end up doing for comfort or to break me out of a slump, a totally different experience now that I know everything I need to know about this world and all the major players.
It's going to be so weird to move on from this book and have to read outside of this universe. I've been reading almost purely Psy-Changeling books for about 3 months now. I don't know how I'm going to move on, but this was such an incredible ride and I can't wait to continue with Atonement Sky!
C.A.P.E Rating:
Characters - 5/5
Atmosphere - 5/5

Enjoyment - 4/5

I can't believe I"m going to say this about a Nalini Singh book. She's my favorite author on the planet right now, but I can't with this book. It's boring AF and what I can tell from the other reviews is that it has zero plot and that's just a grand review of the world and it's characters before jumping into the next part of the series. In other words, all the books leading up to this were Act 1. This is some sort of series in review, boring intermission. And then Act 2 will pick up with the next book. Sooooooo, I'll wait for the next book. Sorry, Nalini. So little time, so many other books to read...

Review without any spoilers.
Anyone who has read and followed Nalini through her years of writing her long running Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter Series, knows that she is able to create a very fascinating and vast world involving an intricate story arc. Many characters have been created throughout the series each with their own complexity of emotions, heart, courage, bravery, tragedy, and soul deep love for the people surrounding them. In the latest Psy Changeling Book #15, Allegiance of Honor, lives up to all our expectations and does not disappoint.
Allegiance of Honor does an excellent job of introducing a new story arc, while still revisiting all our favourite characters from previous books. This is an ensemble cast, and we get to see multiple points of view throughout. Almost everyone receives their 'screen' time so don't fret if you're worried that your favourite pairing hasn't poked their head around the corner in the first few chapters. And to top it off, we also get some insight into characters we've longed for with so many possibilities for future books.
I've always felt that an amazing author is one that can pull the emotions out of you while reading. Sometimes I wonder if Nalini isn't a real life Empath! I caught myself laughing out loud multiple times (or maybe she's a standup comedian?), and crying during heartfelt scenes. I smiled and grinned like a fool when my favourite couples re-appeared, and grimaced and sneered at the villians that we love to hate.
This book is definitely a crowd pleaser and many, many, many(!) Fan questions are answered. This was an excellent way to tie up any loose ends from the previous story arc and characters we love, yet continue towards the future with anticipation of things to come. I was pleasantly surprised to have my buckets filled by the end of this book and feel at peace. And I can not wait to see what Nalini has in store for us in future books!
Allegiance of Honor deserves a 5star rating on my scale for Quality and Quantity! I don't think I've ever read a book that was so cleverly written.
PS. Make sure to read Nalini's "Authors Note" to the readers in the beginning. It'll help set the tone for the rest of the book.

First let me say I listened to this as an audio-book, and didn’t physically read it. I absolutely loved it. It’s more of an epilogue for all the book beforehand, but if you are a true fan of the series that’s not a problem. I personally love all the characters in the series and love hearing about their lives and what’s going on. I don’t need new characters or love interest in each book. This book ties up some loose ends (such as bringing Annie and Caleb together… I was wondering if that would happen). It also gives us a glimpse into everyone’s everyday lives. It also illuminates just how intertwined each group is with each other. I also actually cried twice during the book, which usually doesn’t happen for me. We are left with a new enemy, along with a few old ones. And it introduced a few new characters, whom I’m sure will be in future books. I have a feeling the next phase of books will have more to do with Blacksea. But I guess we will have to wait to see, but I’m sure it will be interesting no matter where the series goes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and in fact I’m currently listening to it again. This is one of the only series I can listen to over and over again without getting bored.

The amount of continuing connections in this book is delightful. I can't wait to see where the rest of the world goes. I can't wait to read the next one!
