I honestly can't tell if I enjoyed this better than the movie or not. I really enjoyed that they didn't have the stupid "best friends rules" thing but Noah was also a lot more toxic in the book, I feel. It definitely read like a teenager writing fanfiction. It didn't bother me at first- I actually kind of liked it (the book equivalent of it's so bad it's good) but we cycled through seemingly all the tropes and every two seconds I felt like we were going through another cycle of emotion and plot and it just got to be tiring.

I would probably have veered more to the 4.5, but I didn't think it was quite a 5, so went for the 4. I think Beth could be an amazing writer, I just think this book needed a sex scene, even if it was just the one because sometimes a book only needs the one, but I think especially when Elle loses her virginity after him proclaiming that it was more than just the sex and she got the feeling that he really did care for her, I think actually writing the sex scene could have solidified the scene. But it was an amazing book with a beautiful friendship between Elle and Lee, a friendship everyone craves for in life.
Can't wait to see what Beth may have in sight for the future!

Hooray
- Has the two elements I always look for in a YA novel: sweet (in a cute way, not the makes-you-wanna-puke-way) and funny
- Characters were not only lovable but also fun to read
- I love the way relationships were built in the book: Lee and Elle's bestfriends/twins forever bond and Elle and Noah's love-hate romance.
- This has been the only book I have read that has pulled off the boy-girl bestfriends perfectly. I didn't get sad that Lee and Elle didn't end up together. (I usually want female protagonists to end up with their best friend) In fact, their relationship was so beautifully platonic that it made my heart swoon even more than I probably would have if they got together.
- No angst.
- The flow of the story was smooth and well-coordinated.
- It was bold of Reekles to go with an unconventional ending. I liked that.
- Reekles really impressed me with her debut novel. I've never read any of her wattpad stories before this one but I can see why she was dubbed "Teen wattpad star"

Boohoo
- Rochelle and Noah are too perfect to be real or relatable. I mean she's Ms. Popular (friends with everyone and gets asked out by all the boys during the dance) and he's Mr. Badass (all the girls want him and all the boys tremble with fear when they see him).

Really enjoyed this. Having found out there is a book series after seeing the two films on Netflix, I’m so glad I’ve started reading them. Easy reading and the movies aren’t far from the books except for the rules.
Elle and Noah together means that Elle and Lee’s friendship may suffer as it’s a big no no as Noah is Lee’s brother. But she can’t help it when she finds out from Noah that he’s fallen for her. Now I’ve started reading the second book and want to see where it all leads.
