Great story

This is a fantastic series! I love this world, love the characters. Just love everything about it. Can't wait for the next!

It’s always a good time when you’re back in Mounts Bay. The Ruthless picks up right where All Hail left off and everything moves so fast - there’s so many people and problems on the planner, the Game is about to begin and crazy things are happening in the Bay. This book is a deeper look into how Avery’s mind works and it’s a crazy, calculating, amazing place to be.

In true to J. Bree style, The Ruthless is full of violence, manipulation, power struggles and moves being made against the Family. It keeps you guessing where the next twist or turn will take you and I couldn’t bring myself to put it down!

Throughout this whole book, Avery proves over and over that she’s just as much a badass as Lips and the rest of the Twelve. She spent so many years relying on Ash, Harley, Blaise and eventually Lips to keep her going, but she really is standing on her own two feet and continuing to become a strong and ruthless woman and showing her worth as a player in the game that she’s so wrapped up in with the Twelve/Mounts Bay. I can’t wait to see how she continues to come into her own and how she uses her cunning and strategy to manage everything that’s to come.

Both Aodhan and Atticus stole my heart in this book. Aodhan continues to be Avery’s biggest supporter through everything and his unwavering commitment to her, her safety and her family even when things take a turn in his own was so perfect. Regardless of the hardships they face together, they are there to support each other and get through to stand up to the next threat/challenge coming their way. I LOVED that we got flashback chapters from Atticus - seeing his past interactions with Avery from his point of view was crucial to his redemption in my mind and helped me to connect with him on a different level.

I really enjoyed seeing the behind-the-scenes look at the machinations of the Game. We’ve heard so much about it throughout all of the Mounts Bay saga books, but this is the first time we really see how it works. I love that Avery is responsible for the Wolf’s affairs and we see how political it all gets, even though it originally just seemed like a bloodbath. There’s one moment during the events of the Game that left me sobbing...I had to take a minute to collect myself before I went back in and found myself crying off and on for a while. I’m excited to see how the Game ends in the next book - I’m already preparing myself for the twist of a lifetime.

The Ruthless is full of amazing characters that had me swooning, laughing, crying and pretty much every emotion in between. I feel like I have a connection to each and every one of them - their happiness makes me happy, their struggles make me upset, their heartbreak makes me cry and their love for one another makes my heart swell.

Warning: Prepare yourself for a MAJOR cliffhanger...way worse than the one in All Hail. The next book can’t come soon enough. I need more of Avery, her guys and the whole Mounts Bay crew in my life!

TITLE: The Ruthless: Queen Crow # 2
GENRE: New Adult Romance
AUTHOR: J Bree
TROPE: Criminal Underworld, Kidnapping
TYPE: Series (Queen Crow Book 2)
POV: Dual POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

The twists and tension keep building to an all-time high in the second installment of the Queen Crow series. Danger seems to be lurking at every corner, and Avery tries to manage as Lip's steed with The Twelve and tries to keep her family safe. I burned through book two, starting in the evening and finishing before finally allowing myself some sleep. There is another cliffhanger at the end, and I can't wait to see what happens next in the final installment of Queen Crow. I am rating The Ruthless 4 / 5 Stars.

Now, the sequel of the series was GREAT, but not amazing for me. I really liked it, but there was one element I could have done without....

The sequel was so intriguing to me because we really got to see more and more from the Twelve than ever before and the game on how they were recruited. It was freaking interesting and I was glued to those scenes with strong Gorilla glue. This book world is just so freaking cool and I am so obsessed with it and am so happy to have found it. THANK YOU J. BREE and KINDLE UNLIMITED (If you don’t have Kindle Unlimited now..... You are dumb. Jk!) This world is so bloodthirsty and so intricate, it is a puzzle from hell and the devil would be proud.

Avery continued to come into her own and I was so here for it. I just loved how more confident she got and I applauded it the entire read. Adohan was also wonderful and perfect in every way. Avery and Adohan’s banter and steam gave me life and I could read it again and again. However, there was one snag on this couture gown.... Atticus. Dude this guy sucks..... Atticus can go away and disappear into Mexico because I just don’t care. He makes Avery shriek like a violet and it is not a good look.... I thought I was going to be all over this man sundae, but he is more like lima beans.... BOY BYE!

Overall, that ending was a jaw dropping moment and I am needing the next book now!

Another great book

You have got to be kidding me. That cliffhanger! Why did the book have to end? This is the second book of Avery’s story and like the first book it doesn’t disappoint. Avery is such a strong character that has her family behind her 100% as she stands in for her bestie, the Wolf, and tries to save everyone in their quickly growing family. This book is action packed through the entire thing and I can’t believe how it’s leaving me hanging like that. I can’t believe I have to wait for Queen Crow.
