Very atmospheric very autumnal I loved it. I finally picked up this book after seeing it for weeks on tiktok and it did not disappoint! If you’re after a cheesy, lighthearted romcom this is the one for you! Perfect for those of us who romanticise every season. One thing I will say is there is LOTS of sexual content so if that’s not something you like I would be careful. The characters are lovely if a little stereotypical gender wise and you really root for them. A cozy autumn read I’m glad I picked up!

This book is pitched as a Gilmore Girls, Luke and Lorelei type, small town romance. Personally, I didn’t really get that. There are clear references, like Dream Harbor, and the rough manly guy in the flannel. And that’s about it. I more so felt like the characters resembled Jess and Nick from ‘New Girl’. The main character Jeanie did not at all feel like Lorelei to me. I did like the small town vibe and that made it fun. With this being a shorter book, it took me a good bit to get through it. I felt that it moved kinda slow and it was pretty cliche some of the results to issues that arise between Logan and Jeanie. I think this book was fine, but towards the end I just found myself wanting to be done reading it, even when they finally got together the spice just was not it for me.I would recommend going  into this not expecting Gilmore Girls. I was really excited about this because I do love Gilmore Girls, and I am glad that I read it, unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I hope others are able to enjoy it more.

So, looking at my notes my first thought was 'Oh wow! This feels like a Gilmore Girls episode' definitely Lorelai and Luke vibes.
After Chapter 2 it started to seem like those Christmas movies, all pretty much the same just with different covers. I'm not saying it was bad, otherwise I would have stopped reading, but I didn't find myself particularly attached to the characters. Idk, maybe I got to the point where I prefer to watch this type of romance rather than read about it.

Oh and I'm not sure why, but whenever the mmc is mentioned I got reminded of Cal Maddox from Sweet Magnolias played by Justin Bruening 😆

A quick romance with cute characters but the story line is weak and based on sex appeal and love scenes. Not my cup of tea.

It’s literally a Hallmark movie in book form but it just didn’t hit the mark.

I actually think it would have been better as single POV because I didn’t feel like I connected to either of the main characters particularly.
