A gripping read and far more than your usual quota of psychopaths in one place.
I liked the general idea of dream houses and the stresses and strains of trying to move into your ideal home and the lengths people might go to in order to do this, as the three couples in this story do. I also thoroughly enjoy the exploration of psychopathic and sociopathic behaviours from an early age and the questions of nature vs nurture. There were also interesting questions raised about whether all psychopaths are inherently as comic book bad as we’re lead to believe by media and whether they can channel their characteristics into less bad or even good.
A very thought provoking, thrilling and compelling book.

Holy. Crap! What did I just read? This book was SICK and TWISTED in the best and worst. It took me the entire book to figure out who War doing the SET Talks: Inside the Mind of a Psychopath because it could have been so many of the characters! I loved and hated most of them throughout the book, as I'm sure was the author's intention, and she threw so many twists into this book! My jaw hit the floor so many times! But there were also shockingly disturbing parts that were hard to read like in chapter 48. I think that scene might have kept this from being 5 stars for me.
Trigger Warning: domestic abuse, detailed descriptions of violence

Wow! The twists in this I did NOT see coming! You're led down certain paths with characters and on more than one occasion you're slapped with the truth! No-one is what they seem, apart from one of the main characters' husband, Tom, he is exactly what he seems and the way he loves his wife is the way we all deserve to be loved. I dare anyone reading this book not to say a loving and endearing 'ohhhh' at chapter 56. Stunning book and if you love the psychology of psychopaths it will have you gripped!
First things first - I skipped ahead and read the very last part of the book when I was only about a quarter in. The setup of the book was gripping, but I thought the pace was too slow. Hence why I got impatient and skipped ahead.
Because I did skip ahead, I feel like it’s not totally fair for me to say the ending was unsatisfying. But it was! Both times I read it I was underwhelmed and annoyed. There was so much potential with the characters, themes, and plot, but it fell flat. Also, did I dream it, or did Stacey and Millie randomly make out? Why did that happen? I’m so confused.

Wow! What an insanely fast paced thriller! I loved this one!
Talk about a misleading cover and synopsis for a book! The degree of psychopathology evidenced in this book was wholly unexpected but will delight any reader who enjoys psychologically heavy thriller books. This story was gripping from the beginning and really held my attention until the end. I did see a few of the twists coming, but even that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. I think the pure depravity of some of these characters and the shocking events at the end of the book made the predictability forgivable. Do be warned that there are major trigger warnings ⚠️ Domestic violence, graphic depiction of violence, mutilation, and death, as well as aggression to and by children.

The whole thing is messy and chaotic, but overall enjoyable. The characters make decisions that really ask the reader to suspend their disbelief. Worth the read in the end.
Took me a LONG time to finish. Idk why but I was easily distracted from the book. It’s suspense so there’s that but the pace was just a little off for me. The characters were unrelatable but I did like the FMC. She was odd in a way I could get
There was always something going on that made it interesting. While I figured out the “who dunnit”, there were still a lot of twists that I enjoyed.
