I really like this book. It completely sucked me in and I couldn't stop reading it until the end. The main character sounds like a real person that you could relate to. Her romance with the hot ghost is just so sweet. I recommend this book to all those who love the supernatural.
I LOVE THIS SERIES I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT! It is an easy read, I read it when I was 12, but I loved it, and still reread it til this day.
I remember the first time I read this book back in middle school, about nine years ago, and it made me develop a serious mini obsession with Meg Cabot and her way of writing. To this day, I still love this series, and I've actually read it various times since then.

Suze is an ordinary teenage girl - her mom just re-married, she would like a boyfriend, and she hates prissy stuck-up girls. Except one little detail makes her different: She can see ghosts. All of them.
REVIEW:
The review is going to be a bit hard to do, considering I know what happens in all six of her books, but I'll try my best to not give anything away.
Suze is an awesome protagonist. She's independent and kicks butt, but she's also a typical girl that gets swept up by cute guys.
Talking about guys, the hottest guy she's ever seen, Jesse, happens to be a dead ghost living in her new bedroom. And I love his character too. Cabot made him mysterious without seemingly forced. He's just a lonely ghost who's been living by himself without no one to talk to for over a century.
The differences in the way Suze and Jesse talk are obvious, and I think Cabot did this so well. Their friendship and interactions develop slowly, which makes it even better.
This is really a great story, with an awesome protagonist. Cabot's style of writing is great, and you'll be rushing through the entire series.

My friend told me to read this… obviously it’s for high schoolers but I think it’s cute. Def a good read for younger kids to get into it.

Esta foi a segunda leitura deste livro, desta vez no seu idioma nativo. E foi interessante perceber como a minha visão da história se alterou no espaço de tempo desde a primeira leitura para esta. Primeiro que tinha a ideia que o tempo se estendia muito mais do que realmente acontece. Segundo que até o desenvolvimento do interesse entre os personagens me parecia muito mais desenvolvido e justificável.
Agora mais adulta, com uma diferente perceção do tempo e do desenvolvimento dos sentimentos, começo a perceber o quanto estes livros são mesmo indicados para um público mais adolescente. Não deixa de ser uma leitura agradável, nem que seja para passar o tempo e por a Suze, a protagonista, ser uma visão mais "durona" para a idade que tem e o universo em que a ação se passa. A temática em si é um tema que me capta bastante devido ao sobrenatural e à adaptação a novas rotinas e novas pessoas.
Como disse, a ação passou demasiado rápido. Temos o início, em que somos introduzidos a parte do histórico da personagem e às capacidades da mesma, bem como o cerne do problema onde ela acabou de se inserir, mas depois a parte do desenvolvimento e do final pareceram um pouco corridas demais. Como se fosse um problema com uma resolução demasiado fácil e sem tempo para refletir. A parte inicial do desenvolvimento ainda foi bem construída, mas à medida que este se aproximava do final, e se misturava com o mesmo, a escritora deixou as coisas demasiado rápidas e simples.
A Suze torna-se descuidada. Teimosa e segura de si, esquece-se que ainda é uma adolescente e como mentir para se sentir superior é idiota, especialmente na situação em que se encontra. E depois temos o Jesse, que praticamente rouba os holofotes sempre que aparece e é a razão no meio da história. Quando o problema é resolvido, a resolução que acharam para salvar a Suze foi um pouco forçada demais na minha opinião. Felizmente, as últimas páginas conseguiram voltar a deixar-me animada para ler os restantes livros desta saga.
Não darei spoilers, então se estiverem curiosos, podem ler. É um livro que faz passar o tempo. E apesar dos seus defeitos, ainda traz uma certa reflexão sobre o mundo ao nosso redor e a problemas sociais que ainda existem nos dias atuais.

This is a book I read when I was 12 and I was obsessed. It seems heavily inspired by Buffy the Vampire Slayer which is fine by me as it’s one of my favourite shows. I love the main character. She has a strong willed, funny and engaging voice and I genuinely wanted to be her as a pre teen. Even used to try to dress and talk like her. I also love the main male character and the main antagonist in this book.
I reread this recently and it still holds up, very much targeted at teens but still so enjoyable and quick to read and very entertaining.
