Love You to Death

I binge read this series again after picking up the novella that was recently published because I loved this series when I read it several years ago and I couldn't remember what all had happened. The first few were great, but as I continued reading, I found them not as good, unfortunately. One thing that really irritates me is how dim Suze constantly seems to be--you can see what's coming way before she starts to get it--and she's supposed to be so great at what she does. Also, the writing style really starting irritating me after a while. But I kept reading! And I'm currently in the middle of the most recent one, so there's something there worth going on.

Kinda dumb.

Powrót do serii z dzieciństwa. Uwielbiałam wtedy takie seriale jak "Zaklinacz dusz" czy "Medium", więc ta seria idealnie wpasowała się w moją miłość do duchów. Teraz dalej widzę, dlaczego to uwielbiałam. Bohaterka jest silna i potrafi o siebie zadbać, styl pisania bardzo lekki i przyjemny a same duchy fajnie odzwierciedlają klimat podobny do tamtych seriali.

I think this was written for teens, but I still enjoyed it and would listen to more this series. The audio reader was good. It's cheesy but fun.

Suze's mom has remarried and they are moving from NY to Carmel, California. The story starts with Suze's arrival in California and meeting her 3 new step brothers whom she privately dubs Doc, Dopey and Sleepy. Honestly I don't know if I'll ever remember what their real names are, ha ha.

Turns out Suze can see and talk with ghosts. But she keeps this to herself lest her mother make her get therapy again. And she's not thrilled to find out her school and her new home are hundreds of years old (aka probably ghost-ridden!).

I though the ghost/villain in this one was OTT strong. I hope the ghosts in the following books aren't going to be so OTT. I mean it's not like the girl had any powers when she was alive so why was she such a powerful poltergeist?

But it was a fun sometimes silly read and there's a hint of romance with one of the ghosts in her house.

This was a nice read. Light, fast and funny. I normally don't read many YA books. The teenage angst just doesn't do it for me anymore. This was an interesting read though. Some of it had a mature feel to it, despite at times, making the obvious trope mistake of the main character never taking advice.
