While the concept of this was really interesting, the execution left SO much to be desired. In particular, I found the writing to be pretty lackluster and awkward, and the amount of POV characters to be overly ambitious. I think that focusing in on one or two perspective characters as opposed to four would have really helped tighten up the narrative, but alas.

A good solid book, i really enjoyed the premise but there were moments where the writing felt shaky. Such as things being over described

It was obvious while reading that the author has such a deep love for the South and is critical of its various evils. I really enjoyed this book but wish the end were not so abrupt. It felt like there wasn’t an off-ramp, just a drop-off. Despite that, this is still a strong debut.
