What a gruesome, creepy and tense novel. If you love cultish small towns, murder mysteries and reading about making deals with the devil, then this book is absolutely for you.
The writing was beautiful, I could really get into the heads of all the characters that we are following. Sometimes character development can get lost with multi POV but Kaur did a brilliant job creating unique and clear voices for each character.
Overall just a really entertaining and gripping read, would be perfect for your autumn TBR!

I just feel like so much was unexplored in this book caused by the four POVs and not enough material to delve into each of their characters. Everything in the plot felt too obvious and convenient, like everything clicked into place perfectly rather than things unfolding naturally.

I guess this is a folk horror, but it definitely wasn't a horror horror which is what I expected. I still enjoyed it though, the folklore was creepy and fun. The ending left me unsatisfied though; I feel like everything was mostly resolved with the exception of one character, but it felt abrupt.
