Fun but lightweight. There is an interesting mysterious air in the first half that has the potential to make up for the wild fantasy of everything that happens, but the mysteries are resolved in mundane and unsatisfying ways, so we are just left with privilege and fantasy that are not very self-aware. But it was lots of fun to read all the food descriptions.

This book honestly moved really slowly for me. I loved the setting, but I just wasn’t attached to the characters at all. It was hard to read the prose and imagine a woman in her 30s. The imagery was great, but this book put me in a little bit of a slump.

What a wonderful book. It treats all the senses. It is a truly sensual book about finding yourself. There is art in everything in this book. Art in eating, cooking, in creating friendships and other relationships. Art with paintings, dresses and the beauty of Paris.
A fantastic journey on self discovery throughout all the senses. It really helped me to find my old sensual self.
