I was never in to hockey until I started reading this series. The characters are realistic and for the most part very likable. It was refreshing to read about a rich female that didn't flaunt it and could get as embarrassed as others do over their fan obsessions. The book not only gives us a couple to cheer on, but someone to despise in Elli's mom. I found myself cheering Shea on as he struggled with his love for Elli. When Elli apologized to Shea it fantastic and heartfelt, bring an awwwww to the book. Counting down to Blue Lines.

5/16/2019 I just listened to Taking Shots on Audio. It was a great way to get my housework and yard work done. The narrator was really a joy to listen to while I skipped down memory lane to the beginning of one of my favorite series.

I liked Shea and his family and I also liked Eli.

But OMG her mother!!! That one just took away all my fun. Seriously, what a piece of work.

As much as I wanted to give this book 5 stars, I just couldn't. I hated the fight. Hated it. I saw it coming a mile away, but still hated it. I didn't think it was necessary. The book had been so good, and for a 592 page book to be drama free up until 81%, that's saying something. I know you need a conflict, but it didn't have to be that drawn out. It honestly made me think less of Elli, and I hated that too. If we had to have the conflict, I wish she would of surprised everyone by believing him quickly, and throwing it back in her families faces.

I really did love this book though. I want to see more of their lives together.

4 Puck Stars

I really liked the book. The story was great, even if I had to get used to the weight issues of Elli.

So why 4 stars?
Because it's in an really bad need of a epilogue...

This book gave me ALL the feels! I laughed and cried and I’m 100% going to keep reading the series. I also learned about Hypothyroidism (I mean I knew it existed before but I learned more about the experience of living with it). Chronic illness rep for the win!

Oh Shea my man you are the best without you in this book I would have well I don't really know what I would have but it wouldn't have been good. Elli girl wth is your problem? I bought this as a book set and I'm really not sure if I want to read them now. As all the heroines seem to be crazy.

At almost 400 pages this book still FLEW by in just a couple short sittings. Through their flaws and neuroses Toni Also still had me rooting for the her main characters, Elli and Shea, and wishing for more of supporting character Harper. This year's beach trips will be full of The Assassins series for me, hands down.

I liked this book a lot! Shea was amazing, however Elli drove me nuts a few times, but still really hard to put it down!
