This series has been popping up on my feed for a minute, and so I decided to finally dive in to see what the fuss was all about. Also I have to say that SL Scott's male model covers are GORGEOUS...moving on LOL. I liked this one. It was unexpectedly better than I thought. I liked the meet cute and then the redo meet cute. I liked the characters themselves and the whole "wrong side" of the tracks vibe. I haven't read a college romance in a bit but I enjoyed the depth here. This was a boy whose family is loaded who has all the privilege that is possible and he falls for a girl who works for the catering company that his family uses. They have more in common than they would think. I loved and hated Harbor's sacrifice- I understand the reasoning but man did that hurt. And I liked the unexpected separation of several YEARS. This was an unknown second chance novel for me and I LOVED that bit of it.
Lark is working towards her dream of being a doctor. She is working as many jobs as she can while also studying and getting the grades she needs to be able to get to where she wants to go. She doesn't have time for anything else which is why she is so resistant at first of Harbor. The hottie she meets at a gas station of all places. The same one who she finds herself working for at his family's house. The same one who doesn't seem to take no for an answer. Now she has a boyfriend who is also premed so they can study together. But she really doesn't seem to grasp the wealth and options he has. Either way she falls for him and the story they weave of their future together. She helps him through his darkness that is his cousin's death. She supports him how she can. She feels supported and is excited when they both get into the school they want to go to. Harbor feels like home to her so she doesn't question how fast things are going. But then Harbor disappears from thin air. He misses her graduation. He leaves without a trace. She is broken but keeps her eye on the prize of med school and beyond. But then he is back. He wants a do over. He wants to explain. But can she open her heart to him and trust he wont bail again? Can she trust her feelings for him?
Harbor is at a low point. He seems to just be coasting at this point. His life has not been the same since his cousin died. Especially since no one knows what really happened. But then he meets Lark whose name has a whole meaning behind it that he will tell her someday, and he feels like a new man. He has a purpose again. Something to help make him smile. Something to put his focus back on. Something to maybe help him FEEL things again. And he finds himself falling hard for her. He doesn't care that she doesn't have money or that she didn't grow up how he did. He does everything he can to make her comfortable and feel supported. He wants her dreams to come true. He wants to be her number one cheerleader which is why when her dreams have a possibility of not happening he pulls out all the stops. He calls on his family. They don't agree but he doesn't care. He is doing this for Lark. He is sacrificing them for her and he hopes that she will be able to forgive him because he is going to come back when she least expects it. He just hopes he won't be too late.
Like I said the timeline in this story was very unique for me. I can't think of another one like it which is one of the reasons I enjoyed it as much as I did. I liked the pacing and how their feelings developed- it took me back to college! I am really looking forward to continuing on through the Westcott family and seeing who all they end up with. I think I am most looking forward to the playboy- those are always fun to watch settle down. I would definitely recommend this series if you haven't already started it!

S.L. Scott wrote a gorgeous story that hit my heart in the best ways.
Swear on MY Life follows Lark and Harbor as they venture through their journey of futures, love, dreams and aspirations.
I adored this story from the first meet to the last kiss.
S.L. weaves this beautiful story so seamless and effortless.
Harbor was so passionate and caring – A very far cry from what I was expecting of him. While Lark was strong willed, hardworking and no time for prep school playboys.
Swear on My Life is one of my two favorite reads of 2022. It has everything needed – I honestly wish it was a duet and we could have gotten a lot more of the missing links in the middle.
Angst, spice, love and friendship this story was perfect!
If you adore first loves, second chances and strong loving characters – Swear on My Life is the perfect read.

I really enjoyed this book it was so different how patient he was… I think it was a really great story…
Such a beautiful read. I love how strong Lark is and stands up for everything she believes with such grace. Harbor...Harbor's beautiful. I read so many books and so many storylines seem to blur together, however, this one stands out, due not only to the refreshing plot, but the way Harbor interacts and treats Lark. He is such a good guy! My favorite part about this book is how it is a perfect balance of romance, comedy, heartbreak, and spice. A 10 out of 10 for me!

At one point, I had to stop reading to catch my breath due to sobbing like a baby. Honestly, I find that the stories that make me feel everything are truly the best reads.
Harbor and Lark's love story is so beautifully emotional. I was completely engrossed with their journey and loved them both. This is my first read by this author and now I want to read all of her books!! GAZILLION STARS!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Swear on My Life by S.L. Scott is a book packed with emotions that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last. Harbor and Lark are adorable, and their love story is addicting. This book was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book, but make sure you have a tissue box nearby.
So, you are telling me that you guys fell in love with each other in a day, he broke up with you a month later, "for your own good", five years later, he comes back , you lot have sex and now you are getting married because, you know LOVE. To all the characters in this book, respectfully, FUCK YOU! Kmt.

Good heavens. No. In the wise words of B-Rabbit: “Blah-badi-boo-blah, blah-blah-badi-bloo-blah! Hippity hoopla!” That’s how I would sum this up.
The writing and development in one word is trash. You will be reading a scene, and the main male character will say something demonstrating frustration, and the female lead will say, “something has been off for a while now.” Excuse me? Since when? It’s just inconsistent. And it’s frustrating to read.
I stopped reading at 60% because I was disinterested. I could care less what happens to the characters or this story.
I spent more time shaking my head and going where the hell is this coming from than actually being immersed in the story.
The idea for the story is there, but the execution is lacking, and I don’t want to waste time reading something that’s not worthwhile.

Picked up this book on a whim and I won’t lie, I didn’t know if I’d be into it based off the odd first chapter and meet cute of the MCs. But BOY am I glad I stuck it out! This was a well written story with absolutely beautiful characters and amazing development! Loved every bit of it and look forward to reading more from this author.
“We don’t always get what we want when we want it. Sometimes we need to follow our destinies instead.”
“I wasn’t special because you noticed me, Harbor. I was special because I saw through your façade. I saw you.”
“I’ve disappointed so many people in my life, but I can’t handle disappointing you, Lark”
Oh my, this is one of those books that once you start you want to savor every word slowly and I had to reluctantly put it down when real life interrupted. It was an intense and emotional second-chance romance. My heart broke as I read Lark and Harbor’s journey through life. The differences between their social status, life outlooks, and futures were miles apart, but destiny put them in each other’s path. Together they completed one another.
Harbor’s entire family was so down to earth that even though they had money, their hearts were big. His pain and grief from losing his best friend and cousin weighed him down but Lark gave him peace of mind. I did not like some of the decisions he made but he made them out of love so Lark could follow her dreams. It showed his strength, heart of gold, and enormous love for her.
Lark’s life was not an easy one, but she had a father who loved her and supported her no matter what. She had her goals and was strong, intelligent, and mature enough to accomplish them. Her pain from losing Harbor was heartbreaking and I could understand her anger, hurt, and sadness. However, Harbor’s choice to give up a career in medicine was the best choice for him. Instead, he followed his passion in life instead of living his life for his cousin’s dream.
This was an amazing book full of emotions and heartbreak. I loved every minute of it and highly recommend it.
