This book was shared in one of my book groups and I’m glad that I took the opportunity to read it. I loved everything about this book! The author did a great job with the delivery and I applaud her on a job well done! Please read, if you haven’t. It will not disappoint!

I wasn't quite sure how I would feel about this book when I started but by the end I was pretty damn happy I got the ARC and was able to read such an emotional book.

I don't want to say too much and give anything away, but I loved watching Lark and Harbor fall in love. I loved his dedication to her and how truly lucky he felt that this girl who he randomly saw one day would become his whole world. He was the perfect boyfriend, and his family was even more wonderful...I actually thought it would be the opposite considering who they were, but I was happily surprised that I was wrong.

There were moments based on his decisions where I wished he had made better choices and didn't have to do what he did in order for Lark to succeed in life.

They both have a lot of past trauma that they have yet dealt with and it affects them on most days and I was glad to see it be resolved in a believable way rather than ignored and pushed aside for the sake of it all.

I had massive issues with her college friends...if you read the book and get to this particular scene that BROKE me because of the betrayal then you'll understand what I mean. I was appalled by the decisions and I didn't appreciate it. I'm glad Lark was not so easily manipulated to let it go easily but able to let it go as a mature adult and walk away.

All I can say is Harbor truly loved her with all his heart and it never changed no matter what happened. He wanted to be a better man for her after years of being a ghost.

Story:

DNF at 50%. Super slow and boring. College romance, moved too fast. Not my thing

I very much enjoyed Swear on my Life and the complexity of the characters without contrived drama, misunderstandings, or lies.
Watching characters grow is one of my favorite things is stories!

This is an opposite, second chance, small-town romance, where social status comes out to play. Harbor and Lark's story was an emotional roller-coaster, it had me reading it non-stop, I needed their whole story. I love these characters, so romantic and full of emotions. I really liked how Lark grew throughout the story, and how Harbor changed. I simply recommend you read this story, it has it all.

It was an absolutely beautiful storytelling that pulled my emotions all over the place. The characters were wonderful. Sometimes I had a little bit of hard time of how slow it was in spots and the time jumps at the end. Overall I really enjoyed the book.
