I felt like the story line was redundant. Dragged on and didn’t get to any relative point about any portion of plot half way through it. Couldn’t finish it.
Unfortunately this was a complete miss for me. And while generally I would have considered giving this one a DNF, I kept reading because I was waiting for the second chance to begin. Why was I waiting for that? Because the blurb very definitively mentioned this was a second chance romance. But when 3/4 of the book is spent in the initial relationship that doesn't leave sufficient time to rebuild that relationship. Not to mention it was the most ridiculous reason to have this couple break up. And when this couple did reunite - at the 90% mark - everything just fell into place so quickly. Lark, the heroine, forgave Harbor after barely making him work for it. (Also, this might be petty on my part but the blurb also mentioned this was a billionaire romance and well, the hero was always rich and it wasn't really clear that in their time apart he became that much richer. Ugh) Finally, the heroine's long lost mother - who abandoned her at 2 years old - suddenly reappeared in the final chapter and Lark, who's spent her whole life resenting her mom, is totally cool with the explanation of why she left. Make it make sense people. Just no.
I’ve loved reading Suzie’s books this year and I loved this one from the beginning, Lark and Harbor were really amazing and despite their differences they were wonderful together and I loved how Harbor was crushing on Lark from the first chapter.
Lark was 21 and she wanted to be a doctor but because of money problems she had to work a lot to pay the bills and be able to get a scholarship. She only had her dad so they were really close and he was very protective of her. Lark was very hardworking and determined, she loved how Harbor tried to spend time with her and despite his different social status he totally showed to her that he was different.
Harbor came from a rich family but his parents were very nice and they just wanted to see their son happy. He went through some things in the past but he realized that his family just wanted the best for him so little by little he started sharing more with them. Harbor knew Lark from one of their classes so he was mesmerized by her from the start so I loved reading their first encounter and how straightforward he was with Lark.
Their relationship happened pretty fast but they had a lot of chemistry so their journey panned out perfectly for them, they both had issues but I loved how they started opening up to each other and getting closer in the process. Their scenes together were really captivating, they spent a lot of time together and it was nice reading how their relationship started changing and how protective Harbor was with Lark, he loved treating her right and making sure she knew he loved her.
On the last chapters they were apart most of the time but I loved how Harbor did everything so Lark could have her future, even if they stayed apart some years. Their reunion had some ups and downs but they never stopped loving each other so being together again was all they needed to be happy after everything they went through.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I feel like I got this through audible forever ago. I don’t even remember initially why, but I am so glad I ended up pulling up my “tbr” there because I absolutely loved this! It just…there’s so much that happens for both MC’s and you get both POV’s to see what their thoughts are when. It was just beautiful to see.
Harbor is one of the most swoon worthy hero’s I’ve read in a while. It was refreshing to see a different storyline in this book. The billionaire falls in love with the girl from across the tracks, and we see such devotion. I loved the Sixteen Candles reference! Jake Ryan!!! Sigh! I probably just gave my age away, but I loved that.
Lark has known nothing but hard work to accomplish her goals. Harbor had truly been through something traumatic, and meeting her turned his life around. I loved her friends. Not that they didn’t have a few flaws, but truly did the right thing when it counted.
Harbor to Lark “You’re the whole fucking universe. You’re where time begins and ends and every moment in between.” Sigh… ❤️
