A very fast pace book with lots of turns and twists. The characters are well-developed in the storyline well thought out. If you like the idea of amazing dogs this is a must read.

I am so done withDean Koontz books. I got sucked in because it had a dog. I loved his early novel Watchers but not this one. Too much with the bad guys. Not enough dog. Poor character development.
I first met Mr. Koontz in the Nameless series
I fell in love with his style. I went through every known emotion while reading Devoted and plan to read more.
I highly recommend this book. It is well worth the time and money. Two thumbs up!

I'll come back to it, but am falling into a slump and need something different.

This book is a gift to readers, with exquisitely drawn characters and a theme of hope. A compassionate and complex character with a form of autism, the development of a chosen family, and a deep dive into the relationship between people and dogs make this story compelling. The story includes dark and disturbing villains, and a truly terrifying plan for changing humanity which drive the action as Koontz draws pictures of both beautiful and ominous settings. Enjoy!
Graphic: Violence, Cannibalism, Stalking
Moderate: Death, Rape, Murder
This book has a pretty good plot and a nice "supernatural" element. I really liked the psychic dogs and the autistic child, Woody. Needless to say, there's something seriously evil afoot. Only Woody and the dogs can thwart the evil. The book is engaging, especially if you're able to ignore the silliness of the nature of the evil.
"The toy bone was conceived by the human mind, crafted by human hands, given to Bella as an expression of love, so it comforted her even when she was alone, while her family slept."
It's been many years since I read Dean Koontz. It felt like reading as a kid, sneaking under the covers. I love these people. And the dog! Oh my.
Everything a great book should be. Plus dogs.

Too slow. Got bored and confused with the characters. I did not enjoy the storyline.
