While I enjoyed the setting of the book & the premise of the mystery, the reveals felt very underwhelming which is kind of unforgivable for me, especially as a conclusion to the series.

I was excited to see how the mystery unravelled & was hoping for some plot twists or drops, but any information reveal felt underwhelming and somewhat forced, maybe because it was a lot shorter than the other books.

I did, however, enjoy reading it & would definitely recommend the book series!

Holmes and Watson were definetly at a more stable point in their relationship, which was nice to see.
I loved the setting of oxford, which is a beautiful town. It did almost remind me of 'If we were villains' because of the Shakespeare play and the friends with some sort of secrets between them. All the characters were very interesting and it was a fun mystery. I don't think I prefer Charlotte's POV to Jamie's. I kind of like not totally understanding her thoughts and emotions, somehow. That is to say it was still wonderful and a nice nod to Conan Doyle at the end.
Holmes and Watson have an incredibly complex relationship, so where it left off made sense. (Even though it might have broken my heart a little not to see a perfectly ever after ending lol). But I liked that there were lots of possibilities of where the relationship could go from there.

A great end to an amazing series. Cavallaro’s take on Holmes and Watson was always well written and I never tired of it. Although I would read more of these, this felt like a nice, natural end to the series. Read them!

This was perfect and beautiful and I never wanted it to end. This series is so so incredibly good and I’ll miss Watson and Holmes so much, but this ending was a perfect conclusion. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SERIES.
