A mix of American Gods and HP Lovecraft, this love letter to New York was a surprisingly cathartic eff u to the socio-economic-political BS of the work we live in today.

Fantastic read! Strange yet real at the same time. Will be recommending this to anyone who asks for a book suggestion!

Very clever with regards to themes but I'm still confused by some of the sci-fi elements.

Ok, I love horror, that makes monsters out of subjects that terrify me; such as racism, sexism, gentrification and tackles my own complicity and identity.

I also love the big f*** you given to Lovecraft even though this is definitely lovecraftian.

I loved how diverse it was and how compassionate.

I loved how this was super whacky and weird and oh wow, I'm on board with this.

N.K. Jemisin, thank you for the experience
