I was not really impressed with this book. There was little to no conflict in this story. I appreciate that it was told from a male's perspective though. It would've been nice to know more about Jean's past relationships but that didn't happen. I think most of the plot was superficial with a few deeper and well thought out concepts. Probably won't read the rest of the series. The book is not a page turner either.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I was simultaneously super excited and really reluctant for this book. I love Kylie Scott and I have read almost everything she has written. I especially loved her Stage Dive and Dive Bar series. From the first Book of Dive Bar, Eric was not one of my favorite characters. He just got on my nerves and he was a huge jerk in Twist, the second in the series so I was not excited for his book.

UNTILL I FOUND OUT IT WAS FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE!!!

This is the first male voice we have heard in the SD or DB world and I F*ing loved it! Eric was much more dynamic than I ever gave him credit for and his love story was sweet and slow, and I gotta be honest. I love the pregnancy and baby romance theme. So perfect!

Also, Kylie Scott, if you are reading this I would kill someone for Lead, Jimmy's SD story, told from his perspective. In fact, if you could re-realise the whole band from the male POV I would, first, buy all of them in multiple formats and, then, die happy.

This was probably my favorite in this series. It’s strange, because you hate Eric for 2 books and then BAM he’s not such a piece of shit anymore. I really loved him as a family man. It’s was the heroines indecisiveness that took a star away for me.

Chaser by Kylie Scott is the third and final book in the Dive Bar series. These books focus on a set of friends who own and operate a local bar while maintaining personal and professional relationships.

Chaser focuses on Eric (MMC) and Jean (FMC) who meet one night at the bar. Jean has relocated to the area after finding herself alone after getting pregnant. Instant chemistry develops between the two but Eric’s manwhore ways, Jean’s pregnancy, and some nosy friends get in their way of developing into more.

The story was written well, my only complaint about this title is that one of the secondary characters is a complete bitch to the MMC. She continues to berate him about his manwhore lifestyle, even though she was right there in line with the other women not that long ago. The best parts of the book were the relationship between Eric and baby Ada as well as the return of characters in the Stage Dive series.

My favorite thing about this story is that we got it from Eric’s POV. I loved seeing things from his eyes. He was not perfect by any means, even in his thoughts, but that’s probably why he felt so real to me.

I really enjoy a good slow-burn romance and I feel like it was absolutely the best route for this story in order to show Eric’s growth and give him redemption. Had he jumped right into bed with Jean, he probably never would’ve taken the time to get to know her on a personal level. It was important for readers to see that he was indeed changing. I absolutely adored his affection for Ada, it was so sweet and made it impossible to dislike him.

I didn’t enjoy Nell in this story at all. I understand that her and Eric have a history and that she was looking out for her new friend,,but she was over the top cruel to Eric. His brother and other friends weren’t exactly nice either but when they saw him making a real effort to be less selfish they took note and were supportive of him. Nell just really mad me angry for most of this book and she brought my mood down with her.

Overall, this was another great addition to the series and I enjoyed it!

LOVED IT.

I'm in the worst book slump and hate everything. Try this one again when I'm in a better frame of mind!

Idk why I do this to myself. Get bored and hit play on some shallow ass romance book because it was free or available or whatever (because shallow romance books are ALWAYS the books that are free or available or whatever) and next thing I know, I’m no longer bored because I’m simply too annoyed to be bored. This is the second Kylie Scott book I’ve tried to struggle through this week (my review history with her books is usually somewhere between “meh, that was cool I guess” and “eye roll, I hate this book”). I’ll do us both a favor and stop while I’m ahead.
