I thought I was going to feel eh about this book and, after reading the first chapter, I was pretty sure I was going to hate it. Obviously, I was wrong on both counts.

This book is so incredibly tender and the characters have so much life. The heart of the story is the main characters navigating their past trauma and relationships and it’s balanced really well with sitting in those feelings and also finding love and healing. Blake shines in her work on character and relationships.

Yea, there are some cheesy cliches, but isn’t that the point? The only time I struggled with the cliches was in Iris’ characterization which I thought was a bit one-note but she functions more to drive the plot while the focus is primarily on Delilah, Claire, and Astrid.

i avoided reading this book last year because i didn't really liked the title and the cover lol i know it's a shallow reason but i finally read it now!

i found the story cliche and predictable most of the time. i found myself rolling my eyes at some lines or whatever, but i also smiled and laughed at some scenes. it's also longer than it needs to be, but then again it's the first book in the series so i kinda understand. i didn't expect to like iris because she was mean at first, but then she became the funniest character. i'm actually excited for her book. i hope she never loses her charm.

i also loved the ending and how they all became friends, i think it was excecuted well. even better than delilah and claire's instant love story lol

i just think all of the characters would benefit in seeing a therapist. like that's all that i can think of while i was reading some parts. like babes im begging u pls see a therapist and get help with your issues!

i will read astrid's book and let's see what will happen next!

I feel like I’m too aware of baggage and things that need a good dose of therapy to enjoy this book. It was a complete drag to get through… and honestly there wasn’t a single character I liked through the whole book. I just met the characters and thought “you need therapy, and you therapy, and you need therapy!”

You’re supposed to like Delilah and identify with her childhood trauma and why she’s got such a chip on her shoulder….. but honestly I fricking hated her 100%. What trauma she has growing up and from being bullied,I can’t excuse her shitty behavior or for being responsible for her own goddamn actions. If this has been a book and not an audio book, I would have thrown it in the trash and moved on. We need to face facts about our own actions and what we do, so I was NOT willing to accept anything from Delilah and really she’s a horrible character. I can’t justify a shitty person doing shitty things, for maybe possibly good reasons.

I could go on a full rant about how each character sucks but I won’t. I’ve killed too much time with this book and I’m not going to waste any more.

This is the first book in ages that I completely flew through! It was funny, lighthearted and relatable.

I highly recommend to anyone in the mood for a easy fun read or a romcom experience filled with drama and revelations!
