This book was so much more then I could have imagined! But having read all Ruby's IPB series I shouldn't have been surprised that this book was AMAZING too! This was such a great story of personal growth from the main characters and the yearning for each other had me sitting on the edge of my seat! And his extra "appendage" for lack of better words was.... something else. A good something else that is! I loved being able to picture both of their worlds with the amount of details she added. I Love Ruby's books and I can't wait to read my next!

Have I ever heard of a sea-ogre? No. Did I immediately pick this book up? Naturally.
Once again, this is set in the Aspect & Anchor universe, but is not part of the core series. Vanessa has been captured by sl@vers and is trying to scheme a way to escape, but she didn’t expect a sea-ogre to be her key to freedom. Ranan has no clue what to do with his new human bride, and her penchant for lying is very annoying to him. Vali is determined to make the best of her situation, despite her husband’s grumpy demeanor. She even rescues him - with the help of his giant sea turtle friend - when he is gravely injured at sea and meets his whole flotilla of sea-ogre kin so they can be wed properly. This story was funny, spicy, and sweet and I had such a good time! (Oh, and Ranan has two 🍆🍆 )

I enjoyed this story! It was unique and really fun world building. There was adventure and drama and laughs. I liked how the author approached what could have been a large power dynamic and always love a capable heroine! The communication issues reminded me of some of the other Risda/IPB books- these former slaves just struggle sometimes and I get it even while I’m like “everyone JUST say what you mean!” It makes sense, it does!
I would LOVE LOVE to hear the story of Balo and the seakind and how that all occured. I was smitten with Balo and knowing he is Yshremi was so intriguing!
