Was I Ever Real

The writing in this book is so good, and the characters are very complex. Lenix was raised in a cult and leaves at a pivotal time. Her present self is surrounded by memories of her past, leaving her to deal with the religious trauma. Connor is her devil who will stand beside her and supports her while she fights her own battles, but he does fiercely protect her. Their marriage of convenience is perfection and so was the ending of this book with all of the loose ends being tied; her engagement ring she had for appearances was taken from her, but the part where she gets the new one is one of my favorites from the book. Throughout the book, their banter is sharp and some of the best. Connor and Lenix have a past that shapes where they are now. Lucy and Bastian are next, and I can’t wait.

I didnt think I could love possessive & obsessive men more but Connor has taken it up a notch!!

enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, forced proximity and lots of hate sex

Connor is the literal definition of “I’ll pour the gasoline and hand you the matches so you can light the world on fire” and I am OBSESSED WITH HIMMMMM

i liked this one more than the first one in series. basically local mob head fake marries a runway child bride from a cult. very angsty but satisfying.

read in one day!

Good book! Couldn’t put it down. Spice level 3.5-4 stars. It was to the point with not too much fluff which I enjoy because I don’t have time to waste and I feel guilty if I skip a page or two when it gets too fluffy

First, I am SO grateful to have received this ARC. This is one of my most anticipated reads this year, and it's only February! This releases February 17th!

Ever since I read Was I Ever Here, I was obsessed with Lenix and Connor. I wanted to know everything about both of them, I wanted to see more of their dynamics together and I wanted to know how the soulmate aspect of this series tied in with these two.

There is so much I want to say but I don't want to spoil a single part of this book. I will say that the spice scenes in this book are out of this world. Their chemistry is so good. Ive never read sex like theirs.

There are also surprisingly a lot of very sweet moments in this book, which I wasn't expecting considering who we're talking about. Like the forehead kisses??? Come on

“The guilt of leaving her here, even for one fucking second, leaves me hollowed out.
Undeserving.
With it, the overwhelming need to keep her safe is staggering. The weight of it reminiscent of Atlas banished and enslaved to hold up the earth on his shoulders for the rest of eternity. The difference is… for her? I do it willingly.”

I didn’t think the second book could be better. I thought to myself there’s no way she could write something as beautiful as the first one and I was wrong. Shot down. Mind blown.
It felt like I was in a movie going scene by scene with each chapter, I loved that.

Lenix Taylor has endured so much in her life and she has become such a strong woman and that is so admirable. We love a strong female character. 🫶🏻
And Connor?? Well 🥵🥵🥵

1000/10 recommend this series.
Please read it.
