For those coming from the first book, this book does not provide more depth to Darcy's character, and pretty much the whole first 3rd was Darcy being the same psycho that is present in "Something Borrowed."
However, this does become an enchanting and engaging almost coming of age tale. Except it's about a 30-year old woman instead of the typical teen version.
Really enjoyable. Much steamier than "Something Borrowed," so prepare yourselves, Puritans.
Giffin does do an incredible job of building believable characters, emotion, and occasionally some really powerful and insightful language.
A great "fluff" read, some of the best "fluff" I've read in awhile (though nonetheless still fluff, and a bit cheesy in the extremely satisfying exposition, so that's why the 3-stars).

I like something borrowed better. this one was alright
Again, really enjoyed this book, probably because I love Giffin's writing style. I found it interesting how at the beginning of the book I loved to hate Darcy and everything she stood for, cheered when things didn't go quite so well for her, and silently rejoiced when she got put in her place. Throughout that, it was interesting to see how my attitude began to change as hers did. The ending was rather predictable, but at the same time I always like my happy endings.
very predictible but a great read none the less - easy and quick and heartfelt. as my own daughters birth is impending, i couldn't help crying when Darcy delievered her own...just a nice, lighthearted read in between some deep books lately.

This book, along with the first, is a great chick lit read if you're looking to read a book instead of watching some guilty pleasure trash TV show.
Darcy is so maddening for the first 60% of the book, it was enough to make me quit the first time. I could not stand someone truly so selfish. Also, I am used to meeting the MMC in like, the first 20% of the book. I could not understand how Marcus was going to be it.
But, I was ready to listen and see how she was going to transform into someone actually likable. Could she be redeemed? Yes, she could. In the form of Ethan finally calling her out. I liked that she was up for the challenge.
And there were just enough during-pregnancy scenes. Cute.
Sped up audio actually improved the performance, rather than just trying to get through it sooner. But I didn’t mind that benefit.

The story is good, and it made me think about life, love and redemption, but i wasnt a fan of Darcy from the start. And im not so keen on having Ethan as her happily ever after. Dunno why.
