This book is a follow-up of Something Borrowed, but from the perspective of Darcy. I must say, the beginning was a bit slow, mostly reviewing the Something Borrowed from her perspective, but then it goes into Darcy's own journey of dealing with her pregnancy and eventually finding love with the most unsuspected person. I liked this story; I like how Darcy's character changed into someone less superficial, someone more mature and grown up, frankly.
Disappointing follow-up to Something Borrowed. Her lead character is exhausting to follow and although she becomes more likeable (about 3/4's the way through), it's a little too late.
I'm so glad I read this book because after reading "Something Borrowed," I loathed Darcy's character and was really frustrated by her. This was a lovely sequel to the previous book, and Darcy's path to enlightenment (ha!) was very believable and looong overdue. I enjoy reading Emily Giffin, because she writes in a very straightforward way and does not have any passages that are long-winded or unnecessary. I can't wait to see if they make a movie out of this one as well.
This is like the first book! I LOVE IT! I desperately need some serious distraction, and nothing is better than Emily Griffen's books. My DH is the one in our family who reads whole books in one sitting. But I've had my copy of Something Blue for two days and it's only taken me this long to finish it bc my toddler takes short naps! I cant wait to pick up the next in the series!
It wasn’t doing it for me. She was awful to read and too fake/shallow. It wouldn’t let up.
I thought she was self-centered and selfish and snobbish. Although she redeemed herself I felt it took too long for her to do so.
I didn't like the first half of the book. Giffin basically rehashed Something Borrowed, twice, and from Darcy's point of view. It wasn't until Darcy finally escapes the confines of New York City did the book become exciting. I couldn't put it down after that.
i really enjoyed this book - even more than the first one, something borrowed. i liked hearing the story from darcy's perspective and watching the transition she goes through to becoming a better person.
Fun read. Must read if you've read something borrowed if you hated darcy then you'll fall in love with her after this
Sequel to Something Borrowed, which features Rachel's best friend. I wasn't really interested in reading the book because I didn't like the character in the first book, but got it on a whim. I ended up really enjoying the story and the characters.
