I'm a sucker for chick lit and seeing what actually people make into movies. This was slippery slick from beginning to end. Never once did I feel empathetic. Fascinating as I usually find at least one character that lets me throw them a sympathy card. Nothing. Clean story telling though. Like a great outline.

3.5 stars and only because I really despised the main character.

This book is not a great work of literature. The plot is overly-simple and almost cliche. However, the story was cute and entertaining. Over all, I liked the book as a "fun read."

If you're looking for an easy, fluff read this is a good choice, but I was not impressed with the characters or character development in this story.

okay, this book was absolutely infuriating when i started it, i hated the protagonist and everything she did was so freaking annoying. yet, i couldn't stop reading it. i read the book in two days and turned out to be pretty decent. not a book i would read over and over but a cute story in the end.

I HATED the main character for a long time, but that's kind of the point. Didn't hate her by the end, but not sure I buy the transformation.

Wow...I started this book actually wanting to hate it. I mean how can anyone like Darcey but well I got won over and LOVED IT...I actually think I liked it better than the first book...ekkk. Given...story line isn't actually realistic but in a perfect world...yeah it was awesome :)

I actually liked this so much more than Something Borrowed, and think that it actually serves as a better testament to Giffin's skills at writing characters. Maybe it has to do with how a heroine in search of redemption tends to have better character development than one who just needs to spine it up. Darcy was blatantly unlikable in Rachel's story, but gradually became someone who was worthy of her own book.

My one hang up with the plot is how she seemed to have changed completely, with not a single remnant of her former personality left to her. It could be taken as a good thing because she was so shallow and manipulative. The restorative power of love at work, or possibly one could chalk it up to maternity -- but I think that eradicating her previous character so completely put an unreal, excessive gloss to this happy ending.

Also, once again, the best part of the story was Ethan.

This book is the sequel to Something Borrowed which I have not yet read. The first book is voiced from the friend who ends up with her best friend's fiance. The second book Something Blue is voiced from the soon to be bride that recently lost her fiance to her best friend. Going into this I thought I would feel terrible for the soon to be bride but when you find out more about her you, you soon realize that she is so full of herself and she has also done somethings wrong. I wanted to keep reading to see if she ever gets over herself and turns into a better person. I wont spoil the ending for anyone who wants to read it.

All in all I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the story, now I just have to go back and read Something Borrowed.

Something Blue picks up right where Something Borrowed left off, this time from Darcy's point of view. Darcy is really unlikeable in Something Borrowed, and she continues to be annoying in Something Blue. But I started to really get Darcy's personality and couldn't help rooting for her. Darcy was portrayed as the evil one in Something Borrowed when the reader is siding with Rachel, but Darcy really isn't that bad. All the people she surrounded herself with always tolerated her personality and let her get away with it, but Ethan (love Ethan!) was the only person to call her out on her flaws and that's when she started to change.

I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I knew what direction the book was heading with Darcy going to London when I started reading, and was so against it! BUT I loved the ending! Surprisingly the sequel was more of a love story! I really loved Something Borrowed and never thought I would like the sequel just as much (possibly even more).
