Something Blue

3.5 Stars - Another enjoyable quick read.

Compared to Giffin's other book Something Borrowed, this one is more a classic chick lit book, with a flawed character and a boy who helps her realize herself. However, it is no less powerful for it. Giffin takes a seriously flawed character and shows how even those who seem the most self-assured need good friends by their sides and how sometimes it takes unexpected life changes to show who someone really is. I think this is my favorite Giffin book.

Easy read and very enjoyable. Darcy had a lot of growing up to do! She finally becomes the woman she's meant to be. Can't go wrong with an Emily Giffin book. They are always such a delight! Excited to read All We Ever Wanted soon.

I started out hating this book. I mean, do I really even want to hear Darcy's side of the story? NOOOOO! Giffin did a good job making me hate her in the first book. But my friend said it was a good read (haha), so I read it. I went from hating Darcy (to the point where I wanted to tell her to shut up everytime she opened her mouth) to understanding her, to feeling a LITTLE sorry for her. I mean half the problems in her life are her fault to begin with (stupid choices) and the rest can be blamed on her parents (wacked sense of self). But none the less, I enjoyed the book even though Im still squarely on Team Rachel :P

This is a sequel to a book I read over a year ago. The first one was from the point of view of Rachel, and this book is from the point of view of Darcy. I really like how they switched it, so you could see the situation from both sides. However, even when reading the first one, I never was really on Rachel's side. I realize both best friends did some bad things in their lives, and to each other, but Rachel's betrayal seemed the worst, and she just goes on the whole entire first book making excuses. She was never the type of person I would like. So now we have Darcy, the pretty, charmed one. I don’t like what she did either. But I still like her better out of the two. She really does grow up and mature over the course of the book, and I think becomes the better person, and someone I would get along with. Some things didn’t make so much sense, and ended up a little too well tied, but overall, good book.

Reading the book years after the first read and I still love it. Darcy was easy to dislike in Something Borrowed, but by the end of the book I was reminded why I like her story better than Rachel’s. And Ethan…<3

I really didn't like Darcy in Something Borrowed but she definitely redeemed herself in this one and I was cheering for her in the end.

At first it was really hard to care for the main character. It took a while but the redemption arc made it worth it.

A pleasant, easy to read sequel. Coming off of the success of the first novel, this one does not disappoint. I found this just as good at the first, with the return of such loveable characters.
