If you want a hate a character and yell at your book while reading. This is for you. Darcy is a stereotypical narcissist and only cares and thinks about herself. As her friends are getting married and moving on with their lives, she is just sulking and blaming everyone else instead of looking at herself.
Apparently this is the second book in a series, but I didn’t read the first book and I don’t think missed much. Maybe some character development?
This book was my first Emily Giffin’s book and I was honestly turned off by it…(but then I read more and liked her again). It was just hard to relate to anyone in this story and it was painful for me to read. I don’t really recommend, but when I read it - I rated it around a 3 star

Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck, and Dan in their 30s. Again, hated every character and everything that happened in this book. But it somehow held my attention enough to finish in one day.

Dead average. A beach read. What have you. I hate Darcy – she’s a terrible human being.
First, character development does not happen over night. In this case, it LITERALLY happened over night. There is no way that Ethan is the first person to ever call her shallow and selfish. She’s thirty and been this way her whole life. Second, the Ethan from the first book who shit talked Darcy and his personality would never ever ever fall for Darcy. It’s sweet and all but no.
I still gave it 2.5 because it’s an entertaining read. No substance, subpar writing.

Darcy was completely unlikeable for the first half of this book. She's ignorant and immature, she doesn't recognise that she's an awful person, and she does things without thinking, without considering others or the future. But she learns from it and improves as a person. She's in no way a good person, but she considers others or at least tries. The romance was incredibly lovely: understated, slow and really just a development from friendship to love. Although attracted to each other, it really was just Darcy and Ethan loving each other as people before falling for each other. If Darcy wasn't so irritating and self-centred in the first half of this book, I'd probably give it at least four stars. Incredibly well written.
I said that i would reluctantly read the sequel to "Something Borrowed" and now I'm so glad i did. In the first book, Darcy irritated me so much. But her development in this book was so credible, I found myself empathizing her and wishing I had her strength. It was a great ending.:-)
