i wish that i read this as a kid because i would have DEVOURED this series for sure! it is such an interesting setting/plot. an underground town?! a lot happened for such a short book, and it definitely felt a little shallow in terms of world-building—but for a middle grade book, it was a nice quick read! i will be interested to see where the series goes! love a good cliffhanger.
