Ok I love the humor in this series. I was starting to feel like the whole thing was taking way too long to progress as I read earlier books but I like where they are now.
It is 3.5 not as much action in this one but still a good read and some essential story line for I assume the later books.
All I can say is wow. Darynda Jones delivers another action packed story that will have you laughing, crying, and fanning yourself from Reyes's heat. The end happens and keeps on going taking you where you had no idea where you're going. And the last page: holy crap really!!! I can't wait another year for the next one, I may have to reread the whole series just to make it.

ERMUHGERD!! I LOVE THIS SERIES! Grim Reaper, son of Satan, action, adventure, looooove scenes that I will actually not skip [they are that fab and hot]. Each chapter has a make-me-grin t-shirt or bumper sticker saying. That leads into so much action interspersed with snark that makes me snort laugh. That snort laugh that makes people wonder what the heckfire you are reading.
Charley is the Grim Reaper and a private investigator, so my love of paranormal mystery is filled. Superb paranormal mystery.
I love all of the characters, Charley, Cookie, Swopes, Ubie....Reyes....sigh.....the chemistry is great fun. They have each other's back even if it doesn't always seem so.
Serial killer, arsonist on the loose..just two of the investigations going on. And snark....lots and lots of fab snark...
Definitely recommend.

This series is getting better and better. Charley is the best, seriously she is crazy (in a good way ofcourse). Reyes is HOT, good to see progress in their relationship. I love all the characters in this series from Ubie to Cookie to Angel etc etc. They are the best, this series is in my top 5 favorites. I hate that we have to wait till 2014 for book 6 :(, BUT it will definitely be worth the wait!
While this series is one of my must read series, the latest installment fell short. Charley kept getting on my nerves because the humor felt forced. It was like Charley was trying too hard to be quirky and funny, but just fell flat.
I also felt no connection to Reyes. He was just there.
I didn't like the ending to the mystery at all. I felt like the book would have ended much better if the bad guy could be brought to justice, rather than just having him exist in a nursing home. Charley's abduction at the end by a character that briefly showed up in the beginning of the book felt like it was just thrown in there.
This book would have been 4 stars if it wasn't for the "Heil Hitler" salute. I thought that was in really bad taste.

I love this series. The characters feel so real and fantastic. I will say be prepared to throw this book at the end if you don’t have the next one handy!!!
