I dug it. Several chapters resonated. I especially liked the "you are not your thoughts; you are what you do," perspective.
He doesn't beat around the bush! Get ready to have all of your shit called out!
Regurgitation of typical self-help ideas with quotes from ancient philosophers to make it seem "important" and "grounded."
Very familiar, no-nonsense, no frills.....overall, pretty standard self help.
Change your thoughts, change your life stuff.
Basically, stop listening to your negative self chatter and start acting how you WANT to be.
Not much new here.
Not bad, but not different enough to be 'great' in my opinion.

Really great book. Love the no BS attitude. Felt like it could’ve been shorter, only because it gets repetitive towards the end. Would be a great to reread whenever you need a good kick in the pants to get your life together.
A quick, easy-to-read, no-BS guide to setting aside excuses and living your full potential. I read almost the entire book in one afternoon, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking more fulfillment in at least one area of life. The book covers seven affirmations and helps you identify behavioral patterns keeping you from achieving your goals. While I don't think the author covered any new, earth-shattering information, I do appreciate his straight-talking style and practical, realistic advice. A worthwhile, inspiring read.
Couldn't decide on 2 or 3 stars but went for 3 ultimately because there are bits of useful and thought provoking ideas but I was hoping for research backed information or clinical trials instead of a pep talk.

Appreciate the push against toxic positivity and how these people are actually setting themselves up for failure because they aren’t really the learning how to deal with negative feelings.
I already operate within a similar philosophy to him. My resiliency is top notch and I’m really good at telling myself I can do things even if they’re hard. When I read a self help book I rate it based on how much I got out of it. This was a pretty good book but it felt like an evening at the bar with your friend who is really good at giving you advice you don’t want to hear. I didn’t get as many actionable approaches as I would have wanted. I’m also a data/science girlie and this was just advice. Now I can see how this would be immensely helpful if you need a kick in the pants to get a jump start but I am not one of those people. I already kick myself lol.
The ending is the most impactful. Forces you to look at mortality as a way to stop procrastinating and making excuses so you don’t have regret
