Wow! This book was incredible! From the first few pages to the last I found myself drawn easily into this psychological thriller. It unfolded piece by piece exposing new characters, angles and bits of the past. I would definitely recommend this book, and look forward to reading others by Lisa Gardner.

Melodramatic, repetitive, outlandish. I finished though because I did want to get to the bottom of the convoluted "mystery" which in the end, doesn't really hold up. Could be a much tighter, and shorter book, still junk food, but at least decently written.
There's nothing quite like a good, juicy Lisa Gardner mystery! While I am not a fan of Tessa Leoni as a main character worthy of her own series, I have high hopes that the entertaining banter between her and DD Warren will eventually become the basis for their own partnership. Anyway, the pacing here is brilliant and makes each revelation a true surprise. There are a few plot holes (how did they have six year old Vero's fingerprints?!?!?) but otherwise great stuff.

3.25 stars. Disappointed to give this one such an average rating but I feel it is fair. A little too overly dramatic for my tastes without nearly the amount of suspense in her other books. Gardner is one of the few guilty pleasure authors I keep on my must read list. I hope her next outing is much better than this one. I would also love to see her go back to the FBI profilers in her first books; the recent cast of characters is getting tiresome.

Typical Lisa Gardner book... love her writing and story-telling. Lots of twists and turns that keeps you guessing until the last page.
I don't think I have ever rated a Lisa Gardner novel this low. Crash and Burn had plenty of twists and turns and even a cameo appearance by DD Warren but this tale of human trafficking and childhood horror stories suffered from a bad case of repetition.
The multi concussed Nicki going on about Vero wanting to fly lost its appeal after the first half dozen times she answered questions with vague references to Vero. Her husband Thomas was even more cryptic than she was.
The investigating officers seemed to cover and recover the same few clues and draw few conclusions.
Yes there was a dramatic thriller ending but by that point I didn't care if Vero could fly or not.

Nicky Frank wakes after her state of the art Audi sails off the road and into a ditch, she has only one thing on her mind: She must find Vero. Vero, a six-year-old who is nowhere to be found after the crash. But it turns out that this isn't the first accident Nicky has been the victim of, in fact, it may just be the third concussion she has suffered from, and as a result the only memory left in her mind, Vero, may not be what she thinks it is.
With the recent spike of stories told by unreliable narrators, this book could have easily fallen into mediocrity. Like Gardner's other books, however, Crash & Burn is a thrilling novel with many twists and turns, mystery and crime-solving. It is definitely one of the better books that make use of this newly popular trope. Despite guessing many parts of the plot before the half-way point, the book was still incredibly enthralling and very hard to put down.
