It was really refreshing to read a crime thriller that wasn't all about murder! And the twists and turns in this one really kept me on my toes.

At first I really struggled to get into this book. I just couldn't get to grips with it and kept putting it down.
Eventually, more than half way through I just realized how brilliant it was and couldn't put it down.
The whole story is completely breathless and I wonder where on hearth Lisa Gardner found such inspiration to write such a dramatic and twisted book.
The ending is fabulous and I was never expecting what happens to happen.
I took a star off because it was a bit slow and confusing to start with. But I would definitely recommend this book as it's a true masterpiece!

Took me a few days

But once I got into this book, it was easy to commit to finishing it. I love that the previous characters in other books show up, it keeps a series alive without being to crazy. The heroine of this book was easy to like and root for and I enjoyed discovering her life as she remembered it. Good news about Thomas, I really felt his love for Nicky. I am thankful Marlene for her due.

I love this author. Really.

The one problem I have is that she's not fast enough.

But then...the books wouldn't be so detailed and full of mystery.

Okay...I love her skills. I'll try to be more patient.

We bought this book for my mom for Christmas. She read it in about two days, then passed to my sister who sped through it so I could have a go. Once I got my hands on it, I realized why they had read it so quickly - this is a definite page-turner!

The twists are nearly never-ending, but for the most part, I was able to keep up and follow the storylines. There are a few lingering questions, as well as a thought as to why a few storylines were necessary (Tessa's skeletons for example).

I am easily scared, and don't enjoy anything in the horror genre, and an intense action movie can be too much for me. However, this was just the right amount of mystery, and fear to keep me interested. By the end I could barely pull myself away!
