Stronger than book 1, which I didn't think was possible. Have immediately picked up book 3 based on where Bayaz's story dropped off.
So impressed with this series.
Will do a proper wrap-up of all 3 books after the next one.

While the pace doesn’t pick up compared to the first book, the stakes get higher and you really grow close to these flawed characters in this grim, vast, fascinating world.

I think this is the fastest I've ever read a book cover to cover. It was quite stellar, a comment that does not come lightly seeing as the first book was already a high mountain to top. While it didn't have the same emotional lows as The Blade Itself, the epic-ness of the series has been ramped up to 11. The second half of the book felt like a haze. So much action. Blood, guts, sex; it never felt too pulpy either. Every action done by the characters held so much weight to the world at stake. My stomach dropped at some scenes being so grotesque and bleak while some made me want to throw the book down and jump over how badass the characters were. But, each of those moments were followed by gut-wrenching consequences. Definitely a must-read.
