From the whole series, this one was my least favorite because it felt odd, like... stretching too much a story that should have already ended.
Nonetheless, I'm a huge fan of English dry sarcastic humor, so even though the storyline was all over, it was an enjoyable ride.

Not the most, um, linear of stories, even by Hitchhikers' standards. The lack of a cohesive narrative and conspicuous absence of a few favorite characters left me wanting to put the book down halfway through.

Glad I stuck it out, though. The frenetic conclusion was a pretty fitting and satisfying end to the saga.

Well, that was rather disappointing. I should have expected, I suppose, that the book simply ends with no real explanations. I've read the whole series now, and I'm not entirely sure what all the fuss was about. It was amusing and vaguely pointed, but then it just ended with a gentle thud that wasn't terribly satisfying.
