Enjoyable enough.

Not near as funny as some, but it still had its funny bits. Story was stronger than I expected. Ending was not great.

All in all I'm glad I read it.

By far the saddest Hitchhiker's Guide book, but also the one that I always find myself thinking about. The sensation of going to where you know your long lost home is supposed to be, and finding you're somehow in the wrong place - literalized here. The Millenial dream of crash-landing on an alien planet, being adopted by a low technology society and living an idyllic life as god's (bob's) chosen sandwich maker. The fantasy of angrily going buck-wild with the corporate credit card from the job you hate. This book rocks.

PANIC

The last of Adams's Guide brings back all the clever plotting, whacky characters, and humor from the first 2 books but keeps it snappy and ends on a bang.

Things I loved:
- The art of sandwich making
- Perfectly Normal Beasts
- Rupert's inhabitants
- Colin
- The Guide's Random conversation

Things I was less of a fan of:
- Trillian and her counterparts are either a girlfriend or a mother and that is so boring
- Random: how old is she, seriously?
- The King (but it's of its time)

Generally a really excellent book.

Now onto colfer!

There are a lot of stories in this story, adding to the wonderful nonsense this is.

The Trilogy of Five has been completed :( Maybe there's a parallel Universe somewhere with an Earth in which Douglas Adams didn't die and we got to see the series finished as he wanted. Thank you for getting me through COVID-19 and for reminding me: DON'T PANIC

This was depressing

This was depressing

And so I've now finished the 5th and final book in the series. There is a 6th book but it was written much later and by another author and there seems to be a lot of contention about whether it's a legitimate continuance or not that I don't plan on reading.

This book was, well, just as confusing and random as the rest of the books in the series. There's not a whole lot to say other than that.

It’s… an ending. I think it fitting at least. This book was better than book 4, but not as good as the first three. A little slow in the beginning, but picked up nicely.
