Not good, not bad.
Not the best ending by Douglas after the amazing first four books. I doubt Eoin's 'And Another Thing' would be better, but I need closure. So, off to read that now :)

Just to be different, Adams wrote more Hitchhiker's. Unfortunately for everyone involved, it was his last book.
Sigh.
Nowhere near as good as the rest, but it's Douglas, so I love it.
And, yes, it does bring the series to a close...although, he may have been writing a new one when he died. He wasn't sure, actually.
I guess we'll never know.
Dammit.

It seemed like a strange ending to the book. It had its funny parts as always especially the Elvis Presley bit. I feel kind of disappointed by the ending. It was a lot better than the third book though. I was kind of confused by the jumping around of characters.
I found this to be the least engaging of the series.

Against (seemingly?) popular opinion in this review section, I really liked this one, and I even liked how it ended. At least there was absolute resolution, and nothing left hanging, literally. Maybe that is for the best, and it suits the frequently grim tone of this trilogy. All in all I would really recommend everyone listen to the audiobook as read by Douglas Adams himself (its not on any of the streaming sites, but you can find it on youtube, just beware, some of the uploads have annoying music to prevent copyright claims. I found one without music, probably copied over from a cassette)
