The ending was perfectly fine, and you should have worked it out if you were paying attention.

Takes a load off my shoulders!

To be honest, the back of the book made me think absolutely everything was gonna fit together. But still it is a great book, and I don't think it's the "weaker" one of the series, quite the opposite. While I do accept that most of the nonsense "science" that characterizes this series is gone, it is replaced by beautiful glimpses of real theoretical science, and as a nerd of all things space, this pleased me. There may be some that disagree with me though.

At the end, a lot of things fit together, but not everything. The end is quite abrupt, and some part of me was wishing a different fate from everyone. That is all, it was a nice series. Thank you, Douglas Adams.

i didn’t love the ending. it was 5 stars before that. overall still silly and fun

Lots of the reviews are disappointed with or defend the ending. But I found the beginning to be by far the wosst part. 40 pages of Tricia McMillan regretting her life? Ford Prefect in virtual land? Random? I was liking this one the least far before the end. But it's still fun. Like the worst Monty Python skits, there is still weird joy.
