This is the gayest, most Tumblr oriented comic I have ever read.

So now that I have read Gillens Young Avengers I finally know what so many terrible Marvel writers are failing miserably at emulating and I gotta admit, I can see why. For the most part, the style, humour, and tone is genuinely cool. The characters are interesting and develop amazingly (Except for America who is still the worst character in comic book history). The action scenes are ok but have some excellent moments too. The art is good but I admit it gets worse towards the end when other artists jump on the final couple of issues.

Its not perfect though. The references are a little too much. I don't care if Loki watches Game of Thrones or if Kate Bishop has read Scott Pilgim. The issue intros can be kind of lame, and the plot is terribly convoluted (an interdimensional parasite that "adults" can't resist but teens can fight. Yikes.). America Chavez continues to be terribly one-dimensional, which is ironic because her whole thing is she travels through dimensions.

Overall pretty good. Recommend if you like LGBT+ comics, teen superheroes, teamup books, Loki, and Tumblr.

I loved the characters a lot and there were so many interesting style choices made that I really loved. I wanted to give this 5 stars, but if I’m being honest I think the plot could have been better/more interesting.

AHHHH! This was so good! I don't really have any bad things to say about this, it had amazing art, characters, and relationships. Everyone on the young Avengers is LGBT and it's honestly so amazing to see Marvel taking that step. Even if Noh-Varr's sexuality is only mentioned in passing the whole team is still not straight except for maybe Eli and Cassie. But the storyline was great and I didn't find myself confused like a normal marvel plotline. 10/10

honestly i didn’t really understand much in general but i liked that the adults were the villains (i hate adults) and that none of the young avengers were straight

I was in my feels about Billy and Tommy after that Wandavision finale, so my boyfriend found this on his shelf for me.

It was okay, I think honestly it just wasn't for me. I did not connect with the characters or the more ~emotional parts of the storyline. Part of that is that I'm just not the target audience for this - I'm a 20-something who hardly ever reads superhero comics. But I also think more could have been done to develop the characters more, ramp up the tension. A lot of time was spent on these angsty, emotional scenes which just felt a little over the top, even for a teenage audience. Not my cup of tea this time, but giving it 2-stars because I can see why someone else might really have fun with this.

"Princess, I've seen the way you look at me. You're not that straight."

Beyond iconic line, America x Kate forever.

I just love this Young Avengers run so deeply. Fun, queer, and young without being cringe.
