Here is another good read from Becca that truly will keep you locked in till the end. Leo is a gamer and hella shy with some anxiety mixed in. Finn is outgoing and these two build a friendship that just melted my heart. The issues that we see with Leo are real life and true so his character is so relatable. The spice level is low and so is the angst which I really loved. This is book 4 but can be read as a stand alone but my advice is definitely go and read from the beginning so you can truly enjoy this one!

I loved sweet and shy Leo in Ignited, but dang it, I fell in love with that sweet, sensitive boy in his book. Finn was absolutely amazing with knowing what he needed and how far to push when he needed out of his comfort zone. This book had me laughing, crying, and swooning. I absolutely loved it, and as of now, my favorite of them all.
This is book #4 but can be read as a standalone.
Leo and Finn become friends from online gaming.
Leo is shy and thinks something is wrong with him because he can't make friends and has social anxiety. He wants to be best friends with Finn.
Finn wants to help Leo come out of his shell by daring him to do things he wouldn't normally do. Then the dares become more personal between the two.

First thing is I read this as a standalone without reading the other 3 and I WILL be going back to read them.
I love a good MM romance and this was it. I’m usually a hockey romance reader but will read any sports romance. This was a sexy yet cute story and I absolutely devoured it in a day.
The main characters had me absolutely swooning with their cuteness. I love a good bi-awakening story and this was just perfect. Both MMC opened up personality wise and it was a great story for those who may be confused like Leo was about what he sexuality was.
Like me if you haven’t read the first 3 then it’s fine as standalone. But some characters in this book do have their own backstory and I can’t wait to go back and read them even though I know the endings.

This is a college MM double bi-awakening book. Finn and Leo are online gaming buddies, who get along and play often. One day Finn mentions a story to Leo and then discovers who Leo is. These online buddies become friends who support one another. Leo is an extremely shy, introverted person who has a hard time opening up and communicating with others so Finn dares him often to push Leo out of his shell. Leo is able to meet these dares and steps out of his comfort zone. But, suddenly Leo dares Finn to teach him how to kiss. These instructions involve long kissing moments where they are just “practicing” until the kissing leads to touching. This is a very sweet, non angsty story of two friends who discover their friendship is actually masking the love and affection they feel for each other.

‘Dared’ is another sweet, low angst offering in the LSU universe. Finn and Leo go from online gaming friends who’ve never met, to best friends, to Finn teaching Leo how to kiss, to a full couple. They are both extremely likeable and I enjoyed seeing the slow progression of the relationship. Each new level of the relationship so organically flowed into the next. I adored the way Leo was folded into Finn’s family, it was exactly what that poor sweetie pie needed. The way they all showed up and supported him was heartwarming.
The way I giggled when I realised who Finn was in the LSU universe! I was also happy to make the Leo connection. This can easily be read as a standalone without much confusion, but the other couples stories are just as sweet as this one so I would recommend reading them as well. So sad this series is almost complete.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Dared is the fourth installment in Becca Steele's series, and I found it easy to dive into the story, even though I hadn't read the previous books. The chemistry between Finn and Leo is fantastic. Leo is a shy and anxious character who often struggles with panic attacks and feels safest behind his gaming console. Finn is a brave friend who challenges Leo to step out of his comfort zone. The story begins with a glimpse into Leo's traumatic childhood, which makes his current struggles as a student clear. Leo finds support in his online friendship with Finn, whom he knows as Hammerhead. The revelation that Finn is actually Hammerhead adds an exciting layer to their relationship.
Finn's playful challenges help Leo face his fears, from dancing on stage to inviting friends over for coffee. Their friendship grows in a natural way, with cute moments of cuddling and kissing. Leo grapples with his identity and may feel demisexual, which adds an interesting layer. The humor in their interactions, especially as they start to act like a couple, keeps the story light-hearted. The supporting characters, like Finn's younger brother Ed, add depth to the narrative.
Although Leo's issues with anxiety and self-confidence are resolved a bit too quickly by the end,
Dared is an enjoyable reading experience. It's a heartwarming story about friendship and love, with a good mix of humor and emotional depth. If you're looking for a romantic story with relatable characters, this book is definitely a recommendation!
