Leo is a kind and genuine soul, with deep seeded insecurities that compound his social anxiety. He struggles to make friends, join any social environments, and publicly speak. Luckily, he's able to escape where he feels safe - into the world of his favourite online game with his new friend and confidan, Finn. Knowing he'll never have to meet or engage face-to-face makes him able to open up like he isn't otherwise able to. Little do either of them know, they're a lot closer than they think, and are bound to cross paths eventually.

This was the first novel I've read from this author, and it was SO cute. I haven't felt this soft and sappy reading a book in ages, and more than once, this got me misty-eyed. As someone who's struggled with social anxiety my whole life and has been able to overcome parts of it over time, I identified so strongly with Leo. Seeing Finn encourage him through kind and gentle dares and seeing their relationship progress in such a natural and genuine way was so beautiful and healing. This entire book was such a low-stress, sweet read, with so much emotional intelligence, care, and warm characters, that I'm absolutely going to go back through the authors catalog to read everything she's ever written. Capturing people this deeply human and real is a talent, and my God does she have it.
If you want a novel that leaves you feeling whole, with a steady pace, warmth, characters slowly discovering themselves together, plus no third act breakup, this one is for you.

🌶🌶
I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I found the story endearing and relatable. What a great coming of a age with such a relevant topic that is so swept under the rug for many people but also how friends can be supportive and found family can love you. Sometimes it takes finding your true best friend to find your true soul mate as well.

Dared is a beautiful book! I have so many big, beautiful feelings for both characters and cried so many times over the course of this story.
Leo is shy and I'm not talking about red blushing cheeks and holding back in conversations. Leo is debilitatingly shy to the point where he doesn't engage in any conversations or go out socially at all. Leo's one reprieve is gaming and where he meets Finn. Although at first both guys don't know the other- user names and all, their friendship begins here and I love that their story, especially for Leo, begins with a strong base. Finn not only is the best friend Leo has ever had, one of those friends who lets you shine, but loves you for who you are. 😭 It's so beautiful...I know I keep saying it, but it's true.
These two men find friendship, become best friends and then their relationship morphs into something more. It was organic and natural and a beautiful progression. Their story is touching in how they cared for one another, trusting and learning each other before adventuring into the next step, even when hormones could have taken over. Their patience and care for each other touched a deep part of my heart.
I have loved each book in the LSU series and fallen for each couple, but Leo and Finn are now my absolute favorite couple. Leo and Finn are a rare treasure with their kindness and sweet friendship, they will touch you. No lies detected. 😉🙌💯

THIS WAS SO SWEET!
“Leo never failed to amaze me with how hard he tried. I wished he could see himself the way I saw him.”
I love Leo, he's so cute! And Finn is so lovely. Their romance felt so natural, they didn't even know they were in a relationship 😂 it was hilarious!
“Thank you.” “For what?” He shifted closer, his thumb stroking over my side. “For being you. For trusting me with the important things. For being so easy to fall in love with.”
Leo has very supportive friends, they are like a big family always taking care of each other. Finn's family was so perfect, Leo deserved parents like them.
“Leo. You’re my favourite person in the world. You know that, right?”
Absolutely loved the way Finn protected Leo and tried to make him more comfortable in himself and Finns family were amazing towards Leo it’s just a pity his own father couldn’t have been the same . All the characters from previous books make an appearance and JJ & Niccolo wouldn’t let anyone hurt Leo and that included Finn. Although there wasn’t as much spice as previous books the connection between Leon& Finn was just so sweet and perfect.
