i had to skip 100 pages because i spoiled myself the end and i got mad because of the plot twist, i was kind of rooting for a certain character and he ended up being the worst, that and the fact that i didn't feel a lot of chemistry between the two main characters makes me feel meh about this book.
also i know it's dark romance but the disgusting view that these men have of women (and the view that women have of each other too) made me want to stop reading more than once, and the "we beat you up because you're a rapist = you can consider us feminists" was a really poor way to fix it.

This is one of those books that I'm sort of torn about rating- because it's kind of complicated for me. This book is incredibly dark and it dips into the pool of possibly being too dark for me at times, but also it was such an enjoyable read for the most part and I really, really enjoyed the build and the way the story played out. I also feel like what ultimately made this a satisfying read for me was the ending - two thumbs up for the ending. Tricky, tricky - almost not for me but sort of for me.
My four stars are mainly for how the book hooked me with the mystery and events.
This book was longer in the beginning than it needed to be with a fast resolution that still left things unresolved.
I wish we got more of a history with Henley and her friendship with the boys. We are told they used to be best friends but we didn’t really get that in some flashbacks from Junior year. All we got was that her and Scout had a thing for each other, Law wanted her but didn’t do anything, Dax was also attracted to her but didn’t care, and Rellik doesn’t care about her. She just seemed to be there in their group because of Scout.
Henley made a lot of stupid decisions, had no plan as to actually getting proof (like her plan is to have Dax confess but she didn’t really interact with him and just got herself manipulated), and gave in too easily.
The “romance” was purely sexual. There wasn’t much talking or connection. I really am not a fan of the doll/toy kink or whatever. But I think he redeemed himself in the end.
It was hard to believe they were still in HS. But they are trust fund kids so I went along with it.
And the fact that Henley’s father didn’t really do anything when his daughter was in danger and left it to boys was ridiculous. Her brother is mentioned and then became irrelevant.
However I did enjoy reading this overall and trying to figure out what happened that night. My questions and suspicions were right!

Wow my mind is blown.
You can’t give much away with this book you absolutely have to go in blind.
The twists were unreal and I didn’t see it coming that’s all I can say!
I loved it. Grayson Law was everything I didn’t think I needed.
So worth the read I loved every second of it

“The founders of Westbrook go back generations, to the eighteen hundreds. They consist of four families—the Monroes, Laws, Relliks, and, you guessed it, the Scouts. Like I said, my four best friends own this town. They are known as the Grim Reapers.”
Henley Greene’s world is about to be turned upside down when she witnesses one of her best friends commit a horrific crime she wasn’t meant to witness.
Rape. Murder.
Henley tries to do the right thing and calls the cops as soon as she can and it goes to trial. Problem is? Her ex friends come from powerful families and got away with what happened that night.
Obviously these boys are pissed.
Obviously they want some vengeance against their ex-friend.
“It’ll be hard for Henley to cause any problems when she’s got four guys controlling her every move. Monroe wants her dead. But Scout and Law? They’re going to make her useful around here. On her knees or on her back, she’s about to learn what her punishment for her betrayal is.”
There’s four guys as main characters but this is not a reverse harem. This is MF and MFM and a ton of dub-con/non-con. If you have any type of triggers that include rape, I’d stear clear of this book.
The story is really about betrayal and vengeance. Friendships can only go so far before lies start becoming
suspicious and people you thought you knew, are in question.
This is one twisted tale that was completely full of mind fucks. It was extremely well written. When everything started coming to a head, my mind was absolutely blown away on who was the good guy/bad guy.
There’s some step-sibling tabooness as well.
